It seems to me that people are currently more disappointed than they were during that terrible losing run at the end of the season.
Even erstwhile Hodgson fans are questioning his methods despite us having a reasonable points total this season.
It may be because we have essentially surrendered in our last two games with only one shot on target.
Perhaps people were hoping for more with the addition of new signings to lead to more adventurous football.
But one thing is for sure ; the new signings will have to adapt to Roy as opposed to the other way round.
If Eze doesn’t support the full back defensively he won’t play regardless of what he offers going forward.
If Batshuayi doesn’t offer the defensive qualities and work rate of Ayew he won’t be used other than as an impact sub, even if he offers more than Ayew as a finisher.

The old be careful what you wish for brigade have a point. We could drop out of the prem playing exciting football that sees us getting beat - but only just every week like Bournemouth. I think there is a balance to be struck between solid defence and showing some attacking intent. I just know that Roy will not suddenly become a different manager because we drew with Brighton. He won’t change - he can’t chance.

I think Dyche Is a good fit for us and when you consider the very limited resources at his disposal when Burnley qualified for Europe I think he could do a very decent job at the Palace with the quality on offer.

that's because you are too fecking stupid to think it wouldn't happen to us if roy was sacked now. is that what you want.

Why do some think it has to be Roy’s way or relegation. I reckon we have a half decent squad and I do not think we would be worse off if a different manager was looking after the same group of players. I’m sure some on here think we can play nothing except dull defensive football. I simply don’t buy that.

Burnley have done a very impressive job over recent years to getting themselves in the premiership twice, sticking with a good manager when they were relegated and consistently outperming. Turf Moor is around 15% smaller than Selhurst and would suspect over all they have an income around 25% smaller than ours yet still turn a small profit based on the low player turnover and low wages.

Their board like ours have recently invested in training facilities and are looking to expand the Cricket Field stand. Yet they are being slated by fans for not spending money they probably don't have.

All sounds pretty familiar.

IF we could prize Dyche away I think improve the club in a sustainable way. It would greatly increase the chances of Burnley being relegated.

As an outside bet, David Wagner is available. Didn't do a great job at Schalke though. Don't know enough about German football to confirm the reason for it.

I'm afraid there is no vacancy at present and unlikely to be in the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, we will all be reduced to slack-jawed somnolence watching the players admiring the opponents having the lion's share of the possession.

We don't have fans in the stadium to express their rage, or respected senior players like Delaney who can ask the chairman what the f*** is going on.

Roy's reaction in the post match interview seems to show he has no real idea of just how angry fans would have been if they were in Selhurst to see sundays performance.

He was upbeat, smiling and appeared 'Tickled pink' by our defensive organisation.
He would have faced shot and shell walking back to the dressing room at the end of the game if there were supporters in the stadium.

Our style of football has killed my enjoyment of watching the team I have supported through thick and thin since the 60s.

I am glad I am not alone in my views!

I agree that Sean Dyche could be a good fit in taking the club forward.

At the end of the day, it is about Mr. Parish!

Let's be realistic. No one's going anywhere right now. Our playing uninspired boring football is not going to cause changes. If we can manage to sputter along and look like we're going to stay up things will stay as they are and that's probably acceptable to management since we stay up means we keep the TV revenues coming in (at least in the current Covid world).

There will only be a change if we look like we are in danger of getting relegated whether from our continued inept play or Roy loses the locker room, the players stop playing for him and that puts us in relegation danger. So, probably from now until after Christmas, we're going to have to be content with watching something similar to the way we played Brighton, again, every week, if we can stomach it.

Just watched Burnley v West Brom a turgid boring game, why people are calling for Dyche is a mystery, he plays exactly the same style as Roy.

What Chairman is going to sack a mid table manager, who ensured stability for 3 years?
