Nice to wake up to some good news for a change.

Congratulations to COVD19, job well done.

Now maybe we can get John Venables to share the Ripper's bed.

Heard the son of his first victim today. You forget that back then nearly all women had children in the young woman age group he was targeting.

Female students in Sheffield just never went out after dark alone and areas were terrified, especially when they heard footsteps behind them. Many men had moved away temporarily to find work and were worried about their partners and the first serial killer in modern Britain at the time.

Everyone probably knows it wasn’t the new computer technology that caught him but a copper’s hunch after pulling him over. They found a hammer hidden nearby. He didn’t try to deny it. Just admitted it at the station. Probably relieved. Knew he could only stop by being stopped.

He of course got warped people on the outside wanting to be friends with him in prison, and, like always, marry him. One did. He was a paranoid schizophrenic. He grew up with he and his mother receiving regular beatings off his father. Material that’s of course been used by many crime writers since in creating killer characters.

One of the papers has a picture of him shaking hands with Bruno and Jimmy Saville.

Back in those days the police tried to use a card index system which of course was useless. The many failures of the investigation led to computer systems being introduced which detect patterns I think they call it HOLMES.
