Internet shopping seems the way to go at the moment. It can be a bit of a lottery with some goods.
I just bought this Anglo-Arms knife for a smidgen over a tenner, and am really impressed.

[Link]

I use it for work and also for gathering stuff whilst walking the dogs. I was working on a site in Bromley in 2004 , and a lorry driver looked at me and said "you look like the sort of geezer to carry a tool."

And I got stopped going to a Jeremy Corbyn presentation 2 years ago, because I forgot to take my knife out of my work trousers.

And no, it's not for doing 'work' on prostitutes. In a few weeks it'll be used for cutting sprigs of holly to decorate the house and dining table.

As a qualified mechanical engineer, I particularly appreciate the design features which have overcome issues with earlier earlier lock-knives.

Has anyone else made a gratifying purchase recently ?

I've bought a couple of items fairly recently that are truly amazing.

a) November 2019 - A Hyundai Kona Electric. I'm never, ever, going back to a fossil fuelled car.

b) July 2020 - An EGO lawnmower. I'm never, ever going back to a fossil fuelled lawnmower.

Both were bought by accident really. I had not gone out with the intention of buying either.

It replaced a Jaguar XE, and I thought I would miss the Jag. I don't!

Pros:
Cheap to run
It's got more toys than Santa
Recuperating brakes
Easy to drive
Range - 325m summer, 250m winter

Cons:
Expensive to buy
No associated app
Could be better looking
Err... and that's about it really.

I'm now an committed EVangelist.
