True Kev! We should deffo get rid if we can. Should have done that a long time ago and taken a chance on Toney when he was at Peterborough.

Clyne made a huge difference in my opinion.
Not having McArthur and Luka together worked better and when Reidewald came on he gave us more impetus.
Batshuayi - needs to be given more time I reckon.
Ayew was okay as well.
Better performance and fair play to Roy for making changes.
Great win - much needed for points and confidence

Big improvement in the second half, having Eze come deeper in a play making role helped them concentrate on defending.

Not pretty but we looked much more solid.

Get another winger and jobs a good'un

I was really worried we were on a long poor streak.

Wolves being depleted, was an opportunity. Thank the lord the team took it.

Really important that we collect more in the coming games. A brutal set of matches in the run in.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

A clean sheet and an important win.
There was more clarity in our approach to the game even if we didn’t create too much.
Thankfully Traore only came on towards the end as he looked a handful.
For those, including me, who wanted to see Eze in a more central role I thought he was more involved and looked more dangerous from the left.
Other than of course his very good goal, the game seemed to pass him by when in a central role.

Yeah, interesting to see that. There's a lot more space for him coming in off the left because he is so far from goal out there. In the no10 position he is bound to be more tightly marked, but also be closer to goal when he can get space (as for the goal).

Personally I'd persevere with this formation and Eze as a no10, though however we play it remains the case that either him or Zaha will end up having to track back wide left, which doesn't suit either of them.

Once again Kouyate the weak link in defence, he may be tall but he can't pass the ball and couple of times played us into trouble.

Reidewald absolutely must start every game in midfield and Miliosevic should be pensioned off.

When we can cobble together a constructive midfield we will get somewhere but we suffer from 1. triangle passing 2. back passing 3. 'suicide' short passing. Nobody capable or confident enough to bring the ball forward. When we can the new man just may get us some goals.

Anyway a decent win against a very poor Wolves side (how on earth did they knock us out of the Cup?)

Don’t think Jairo gave the ball away once today. Luka looked better in the 2 and in particular with Jairo next to him. Playing the 3 keeps opposition midfield occupied as they are wary of breakaway. 4-2-3-1 is the way to go

Agreed, but he didn't try anything overly progressive or ambitious either.

Our best chance in the first half came after McCarthy tried a difficult left footed ball over the top of their right back which PVA got to, and pulled back. Can't remember Jairo trying anything like that.

I've no problem with Riedewald starting, but I do wonder if some of his promoters on here aren't just using him as a stick to beat Hodgson with. Roy sticks with the same average midfielders no matter how they perform, but that doesn't make a different average midfielder better than he actually is.

Agreed - I thought Jairo's second half performance was quite excellent.

Jairo is a great passer of the ball... don’t really understand why some people can’t see that... for me he has to start... team looks more balanced with him in it....

Who on earth in our squad is more progressive in the Central midfield area!?
Jairo moves forward, passes forward, points forward, can pass a ball properly, can control a ball with either foot.

Easily the first name in centre midfield if we want to play football properly.

Watch the goal we did 5/6 perfect one touch passes. McCarthy is one of the most basic players I’ve seen. Bobby Bowery offered more.

In my opinion!!

I think that berating Kouyate is unfair.
He is a midfielder playing in central defence due to our long term injury issues there.
Generally he has done a sterling job in my opinion - Long may he continue!

Bold.....very bold I salute you for it sir, I would say you have dared to stick you head above the parapet with that one although its more a case of you have jumped up on the wall whilst waving your arms wildly with a big neon sign above your head saying 'I slept with your mama and I bet you can't hit me'.

Good luck Sir!
