It’s generally not a case of how bad we are in any given season, but how poor three other teams are in order to keep us up. Who will go up from the Championship next season? Brentford? I think they can be similar to Leeds and be comfortable. Norwich? Would’ve learnt from the experience last season and have retained the core of a young squad. Watford? Are on a pretty strong financial footing and know how to stay in the prem.
Can we really stay up with this lot next year? If many of them stay around as let’s not forget most of them are out of contract at the end of the season, there will be another season in their ageing legs and most of them look a world away from the players they were. We’ve no idea how our youth will go as they never get a chance to play and Roy would rather field an undermanned bench than blood an academy player. It’s not as if the owners are going to open the wallet and splash on players, but there are always risks with those as they don’t always work out. I cannot see anything other than a season spent in the bottom three next season.

We are all but safe in a pandemic season, had we won on Saturday we would have had a record points total for this point of the season. This is a reaction to a few bad performances forgetting the we are in difficult circumstances with a large number of players out injured and a number out of contract soon, which is not easy to navigate for the mgmt team at the club.

We are in transition and have the strongest foundation we have arguably ever had (new youth academy, chairman focused on progression, 8 years in premier league). Well let me inform you that Burnley’s Team yesterday was in fact older than ours & played us off the park.

Look at Soucek & Coufal no one had heard of them have been great signings for West Ham, Mac Callister at Brighton what a find he has been.
