Why are the Roy In brigade so abusive and angry with those who have a contrary view?
I was jumping out of my chair with the Benteke winner and it was a great feeling.
A real smash and grab.
But it shouldn’t mask the problems as highlighted in previous pages by those who would like a managerial change in the summer.
A lucky but very satisfying win does not invalidate the legitimacy of the concerns.

If we get Potter we will go down straight away in my view. He has been on a knife edge at Brighton.

There is no way he will get enough backing to change the entire squad profile to his kind of football and in the transition we will hit rock bottom and end up bringing Colin back mid season to our peril.

Eddie Howe would be a better choice, in the summer.

I wouldn't like Potter. His teams lack spine and steel. Plus we already have a hard time scoring, no point in playing slightly better and still not scoring. Genuinely think Potter needs a season or two lower down - which he might even get next season.

I used to put the manager's name in front of Red and Blue but got fed up with changing it. If someone cool becomes our manager then maybe..

Red and Blue Army!

No way on earth.

To all those who quote FFP as the reason for us not spending take note of this figure.

Potter’s season with Swansea saw them in 10th with one of the lowest goals scored in the top half of the Championship. Brighton have never really been clear of relegation trouble in nearly 2 seasons under him and have had continual issues with turning possession & “chances” domination (against everyone, even if the two games v us have been extreme examples) into goals & wins. There comes a point at which he needs to look at his “process” and change elements of it. There are clearly a lot of things that his teams do well but he doesn’t seem to address glaring weaknesses which have been weaknesses for a long time. It also calls mattteo's (& others), "keep doing what your doing and the goals/ wins will come" view into question. He may not need to completely change his approach but it looks like he could definitely do with tweaking it.

Bloom won’t sack him, he plays fast one touch football that gets the happy clappers creaming their pants.

Will be interesting to see though should the love fest still apply if they are in the Championship and dare I say it Division one....

You seriously think our playing staff are capable of the type of football Brighton play? I appreciate we have a number of contracts up at the end of the season but we would need pretty much a whole new team - except for the strikers ( as generally they don’t score).

You can play cross passes all day but the stat that counts are goals scored and over this season Brighton are woefully short of our standards (don't wiki it) a glance at the league table will do.

That’s all well and good but So did we and haven’t spent anywhere near that amount.

Because we already had players of the highest level in the squad. They came from nothing, so they had to spend to be competitive in the PL. Imagine that we didn't have Zaha. With thay buy alone, we would have spent nore than Brighton.

We spent a lot too, but we had sales as well(AWB comes to mind).

But Brighton will have a great financial future too, people who analyse finances know they promoted players who will be sold for a lot more (Trossard, Maupay, Connolly, McAllister, Lamptey, March, Dan Burn). They also have some very exciting loanees at a very young age (Gyokeres etc.)

I have often wondered how they get away with it. Is it the Stadium sponsorship?

How many of their passes created a worthwhile chance? Very very few.

I disagree. They have many chances. And ot only in this match, in most matches. They need a little better finishers.

Is it better to live by accidents like Benteke's goal? We win 3 poknts ouy of nothjng, but keeping this up.will surely mean relegation in 2 years, cause you can't fool football forevwr.

Meanwhile, Brighton keeping this up and getting a few bettwr finishers will rise in the league in 2 years and will even fight for Europa League spots. It's how a manager build mechanical football and tactics and the guarantee of wins in the long term.

Whatever he has or has not achieved, he's far too lightweight for our needs.

Ergo he's a no-go.
