Our Players' Diet

Reading the article, the chef really is missing the point about nutrition, fats are an essential part of any balanced diet, not using natural fats such as butter is ridiculous, this is 1970s thinking when butter, eggs were bad for you and the government told the population to eat processed carbs I.e pasta bread and rice consequently fuelling the obesity crisis as highly processed grains are low value, high insulin spiking calories.

Supplementing so called bad fats with chai seeds to make up calorie intake is just nonsense.

A balanced diet is pretty easy, cut out processed food, high sugar drinks which includes fruit juice (just eat an orange). Aim for 2g of protein per kg of body weight, eat veg, 40 % protein 35 % carb and fat 2400 Cal’s for the av guy or 2 for ladies.

In regards to oats, if you soak whole rolled oats in Greek yoghurt overnight then add a few blueberrys this would be a good option .. protein and fat from the yogurt, low gi carbs from oats and a nice burst of vitamins from the berries.

No such thing as a balanced diet this is made up modern term.

Correct fats are essential.

They still recommend those you mention today because the current day nutrition advise was written by a panel which one of the main members is food industry who funded a lot of the so called studies.

That ratio doesn't work for athletes and is not healthy.

When you mentioned GI I take it you mean glycemic index? If so its false data pay no attention to it.

You may ask why or disagree well it has been proven it is due to you can test the same person at different times of the day including different days with the results not being so different covering both ends of the scale (the scale they use anyway is incorrect it is build of reading of white bread)

Next you have other people as well you do the testing for and again they show readings all over the place it's useless (each persons different)

The other thing is it doesn't take into account mixing fat/carbs/protein is a no no you need to make the choice you got carbs/protein or fat/protein Randle cycle explains this.

I would say the recommendation food wise is a good option for people to transition to getting away from modern diet which is awful.

If only the plant based diet helped increase the passing rate of our players on the pitch during matches as it obviously does assisting passing food through the body!
Also I am sure Big Ben looks and moves more like a Triffid every time I see him on the telly?
