Some great names already mentioned - I would have to add John Jackson, AJ & Jim Cannon to the list, Not necessarily the absolute greatest of all time but for sure (at least for me) the list wouldn't feel right without them included.

It was a privilege to watch him weave his magic from the open spaces of Selhurst (just the one stand then)

And those of my era will always say that John Jackson
was our best keeper in living memory. Those were the days of leather balls, quagmire pitches and an anything goes attitude to keepers by opposing No.9s - it was brutal and none but the bravest would prevail.

Even when he moved on to Orient he was the bravest of the brave.

Nice one. I don't clearly recall seeing Byrne in his pomp, but I watched him play when he came back for a while. Past his best really. My Dad used to wax lyrical though, always his favourite player.

Now John (Stonewall) Jackson I do remember seeing and he certainly was a cracking keeper. He came to a youth club event to answer questions from us kids. I got his autograph by handing him a programme but was too nervous to speak.
