I think we disagree because we have a different definition of 'level playing field'. If we think about it in terms of football given that it's a sporting analogy I think you think of it as people wanting every game to end in a draw and end up level on points at the end of the season and no one wins any trophies.

By level playing field we mean that everyone should start the match with the same number of players, having had equal access to the same level of training and facilities, and that the referee makes unbiased decisions that do not advantage one side over the other.

There are still 'winners' and 'losers', everyone has just had an equal opportunity at success.

I agree it's impossible for us to see the world in a similar way. I view your lens as fundamentally flawed and impossible to implement properly and ultimately very damaging long term.

People would have to agree upon what a level playing field is and I've read a little of what your idea of it is with your employment practices for example and I couldn't be more opposed.

You think you're being fair, whereas I think you are just exchanging one set of biases for another.

In one sense I have no issues with biases, as I've said before a company should be able to pretty much employ who they want and fire who they want as long as its based upon merit....but I know that you'd object to that on ideological grounds.

This horrible and tragic case with Sarah Everard and social media being awash of thousands of women all with their own personal stories of sexual harassment, stalking, being hassled on the street etc. really does highlight how important it is to listen to women and to educate men to behave better and what everyone can do to help reduce the fear for women being alone in public. No one should live in fear of that.

The men that can be educated have already been educated. What we need is good old fashioned enforcement to make sure those that do the crimes are punished, and when they go to prison, they get the seeing to they deserve.

The law does need to change, to have stronger powers, but when it does the same people complaining about needing to educated men then start complaining about prisoner welfare.

Even the worst men in society want people who commit crimes against women and children to face a higher level of punishment.

Most people are in agreement that Trump is a pig, he faced huge protests for enforcing the death penalty against 4 people in his last days in office. There were contrived crys of racism, people trying to twist the narrative to claim the purportators were victims. The fact is all 4 had committed hideous crimes against women and girls....as above, even the worst men see no place for crimes against women and children.

There's no point in angry feminist campaigning to re-educate men. Men in the western world that can be educated already know and collective blame will just drive people appart. An attempt to educated the men has already happened whilst they were at school. If the animals commuting these crimes weren't educated then, they won't be educated now.

What they need to do is ensure that all crime is dealt with swiftly and effectively to make sure people who can't be educated are too scared to commit crimes.

The murder of Sarah Everard is the latest tragic case to receive large publicity.....though in 2018/19 there were 671 murders and we know that the vast majority of them...all tragic, received very little publicity compared to hers.

Obviously we all hope that the person(s) responsible for this murder are rightly convicted. I can only imagine what her family are going through.

The point I wish to make is on how this murder has been used by certain activist groups who are well funded and ideologically driven..

While Everard's case is prominent they are using the opportunity to present disingenuous figures to promote a disfigured picture to the media and politicians. For certain ideological publications these figures are pushing at an open door. Yet little digging, questioning and critical thinking is applied to whether the figures are objectively sourced.

Instead the media pick up and repeat without questioning and most normies just accept them as fact.

Here is a link to a video questioning figures that certain groups have been using to push their agenda at this tragic time.

Is it me or did I miss the vigil for the 1000s of girls raped and abused by grooming gangs.
Maybe they aren't worthy of acknowledgement!

Had thought the same thing.

But this would be acknowledging some uncomfortable truths which the left aren’t interested in

Disgraceful behaviour last night they should be ashamed of themselves, the politicians I mean not the police.

The usual media hogging politicians were eager to condemn the police for their heavy handed actions at the vigil.

What were the police supposed to do?

The high court said it was illegal and in fairness to the organisers they cancelled it. However several hundred people attended and so the police had to act.

All those who think the police were wrong what if this was a peaceful Tommy Robinson vigil or a pro Trump rally? Would you be complaining I think not.

The police had been criticised for not enforcing the law in the last year so during this lockdown they have. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't.

Yet again the police are thrown under a bus by the politicians I wonder why they bother.

Well if some of these protesters or families end up in hospital with covid they may look back on their stubborn stupidity.

Also I think honour killings and FGM havent been mentioned. There are many girls abused and killed over these issues. Never mind though as it doesn't get the same photos.

I agree. Watching the news on the BBC and it is so biased.

What are the genera stats? 1 in 100 has or is carrying COVID? Well from what I could see there were at least a thousand people in one group, huddled together and not all had face masks on and they were shouting and singing (which sends the virus out and further).

Where is the balances? The police officers have families too.

The vigil was well made but why couldn’t they spread out, socially distance and not act like sheep?!

Jesus Christ. All they were doing was trying to pay respect and lay flowers for a murdered woman.

Take a look at yourself lads.

Correct.

But where was compliance with social distancing?

I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments.

I totally understand the Police stance in trying to break up the masses during a public health crisis.
I note that the vigil was originally organised by "Reclaim the streets" and we know all about them.
