I just saw that, it seems a bit cheap. We should definitely buy him for that. I just find it a bit hard to believe. However, he may not have long on his contract.

I suspect its got a lot to do with Chelsea having an awful lot of players on their books. Their policy has been to have a very bloated player rosta and then earn money by loaning them out. However the summer will see depleted transfer fees and Chelsea will want to raise money for Tuchel to rebuild the Chelsea team. Gallagher is probably not going to make it as a Chelsea player so they could well cash him in now. I did a good old Google search out of curiosity and he signed a new long term contract just before going on loan to The Baggies.

No, no, no. Detestable. Cares more about his hair than he does the game. Not even that good.

Agreed. He's too much of a prima donna. Can't see him fitting into a hard-working mundane team like Palace. He doesn't strike me as a player who would get stuck in when the chips were down.

When he was young Norwich used to get players to kick him as he was a flair player and in matches he would be kicked.

Never saw much flair when I watched him play, to be honest. Championship's about his level.

I am thinking about the need to have a certain percentage of "home grown" (developed in UK) in squads.

Someone has mentioned the Chelsea style of loaning out players - which indicates getting into the Chelsea first team is almost impossible for a Chelsea youth player. At one time John Terry was the last academy graduate doing business in blue.

what I feel is needed is for Palace Academy Graduates to achieve Palace First Team Status, with perhaps the odd (fully paid for) import.

I think that South London and Proud will be support by producing our own. COYP

Were they were talking about Gallagher or Cantwell or both? Can’t say Gallagher doesn’t get stuck in has picked up numerous yellow cards this season. Of the 2 Gallagher would be my choice all day long

We need two new central midfielders, two tough tackling players who can pass the ball forward not always sideways and back, the only decent midfielder we have in my opinion is McCarthy but he is always injured

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

That’s a bit of a contradiction! McCarthy is great at passing back and sideways, think Jairo is the only one with drive forward and pass forward and move qualities in our current centre midfielders

Either of these be great additions but we can’t have Gallagher and Luke getting a booking every damn game!!

Personally I'd have Cantwell all day long. Silly hair and daft dancing celebrations are small prices to pay for energy and goals from midfield.

As others have said though, no chance of getting him at all unless Norwich fail to come up this season. Even then, based on what they asked (and got) for Godfrey, and Lewis, plus the prices they apparently put on Aaron's head, they are well aware of the premium prices they can ask for young British players, so we'd struggle to afford him.

You're probably right but after Bats, I don't think they will want to loan us anyone.

Fortunately, I think Chelsea would likely agree with us that Bats is a lost cause. Imagine they're gutted they gave him that 1 year extension before sending him to us. He'll be available to whoever offers the most this summer, regardless of how much that is.

Cantwell is out of range. Last year was the time to go for any of their players. Godfrey & Lewis were the ones they chose to cash in on.

Norwich's players are always available every other year given their yo-yo nature.

Ridiculous transfer suggestion for so many reasons.

1)Norwich are nailed on to win the league so wouldn’t consider selling any players.
2) Even if they did, price tag would be £30m+ which is absurd.
3) LM/LW is a position we don’t need to fill. Eze, Schlupp, Zaha or Ayew can cover this position.
4) Hardly set the world alight in the championship. Norwich are in the position they are thanks to the ruthless consistency of Buendia and Pukki coupled with a solid defence. 5 goals and 4 assists in 25 games is mediocre at best.
