Suprised this one hasn't cropped up before, as apparently his contract at Marseille runs out this summer:

From what I've seen of him, he's class. A few other teams mentioned (AC Milan are one I believe), and he'd command a decent wage, but could be a good replacement for Zaha.

I thought that there was absolutely no chance of this happening, as AC Milan were interested, but "apparently" he wants another shot at the PL.

Though, Leicester are also looking at him - so back to no chance.

I thought it did come up before, so there may be some truth in it. Surely there's a West Ham link?

I remember him playing for Newcastle.Steve McClaren signed him for the club.
I recall him as a left-footed player who played out on the left and to me he seemed a tad lightweight.
Used to turn-up for Newcastle games in a tuxedo!

At 28 I can’t imagine he will be the type of player the club will be willing to spend big money on.

He'd probably have a signing on fee of at least a million and wages over 50k,but there wouldn't be a transfer fee. I suspect he'd be good for us. But others will be circling, which never bodes well.

You are correct, 3T's did in 2019 when he started on his 'War n Peace' novels of players . . .

He had some kind of autism, I always felt sorry for him. God knows how much time he puts in on football manager games. He doesn't regale us anymore. We need a replacement: I'll knock out a five page list of alternative candidates and post it up. Then I'll say "I told you so" in a year or two.

So Thauvin would prefer to play in the MEXICAN league rather than play for us !

On the BBC Gossip column :-

Marseille's France forward Florian Thauvin, 28, has rejected an offer from Crystal Palace and will instead join Mexican side Tigres in the summer. (La Provence - in French)

I can't think that wages was an issue.

Is this a symptom now of our appalling style of football ? Has all this anti-football come home to roost with players not wanting to play for a team that mostly defends ?

So his agent lined up a deal to live and work in the endless madness of the gun, murder, drug gang, and corruption capital of the world.

And he turned us down and moved to Mexico instead.

To be fair, you could be describing Croydon there as well.
