I once spent a day at Channel 4 Racing about 20 years ago, and after listening to all the name dropping about who said what about which horse it became clear quite quickly that the closer you are to the source of info the more likely you are to be told a load of b*ll*x - once we thought it was Nuno your 'source' told you there was a press statement for noon the next day. So with all respect I have to take your latest claim with a truck load of salt.

Lol - I did that. Went to Ascot on a corporate a few years ago. As part of the deal a famous racing man came and gave us some tips and his thoughts on each race. He had 40 years at the top of the profession as a trainer and owner. I know sweet fa about horse racing so meticulously wrote his tips down, listened to his rationale and stuck my tenner, for each of the 7 races, on his tip. Nothing. Nada. Not a winner, not an each way. I felt absolutely shafted. Even on Sky super 6 I get at least one score spot on and a few results, so Iíd expect a 40 year veteran of racing to have a good idea. On the rare occasions I go now I just bet on Irish horses and trainers or do the opposite of the ITKís and hold my own!
No disrespect intended but to amuse myself, when we were told it was definitely Nuno and it was being announced at a press conference (that even the press were unaware of and hadnít been invited to) the next day - I smelt bs and stuck £10 on Lampard at 14/1 and there it still sits. You never know.
Notwithstanding that, I hope we get this bloke.

I used to live in Epsom and wifey knew a girl who worked in a pub on the Downs and she got passed tips from loads of racing people.

If the tip came from a jockey we ignored it but if from a trainer it was frequently correct

I was hoping youíd return at some point with your pointless in the know postings. Actually, theyíre not pointless as I think they offer a lot of amusement to the members of HOL.

Have you not realised that your source keeps getting it wrong and you just embarrass yourself on here?!

With all respect, your track record is shocking and this ĎIím just passing it oní facade is a load of rubbish. Youíre just blagging it!

They offer a lot of amusement much as yours do.

Firstly you say that "your source keeps getting it wrong" and then you say that "Youíre just blagging it!"

Make your mind up as both statements can't be right and it isn't the first time that you have contradicted yourself

Now I know this is all in the press so nothing new but Iím being told yes I know what you will all say but I am being told tonight that providing no hitches we will have a new manager hopefully within 48hrs.

That man is Lucien Favre 3 year contract talks are progressing but all is going well & SP is very confident we have our man.

Only passing what I have been told, may be rubbish but just passing on the info.

Not this blokes. They were shocking. (I have considered that a likely scenario is that he simply thought that heís not going to give a bunch of corporate freeloading tossers any decent tips and we wouldnít have a clue anyway - which, in my case, was spot on)!

I'm getting my folk tales mixed up - is it "The Emperor's New Clothes", or "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"?

My mate was a concierge at a hotel with all the top Arab owners such as Sheik Mohammed. He was also a very bad tipster himself so when we heard "Lads I have a tip" if it was from the Sheik or one of his minions we lumped on, if it was my mate we ignored.

Anyway the proper tips did very well indeed unfortunately he has retired so that has all dried up leaving us as just mug punters.

My favourite tip was not from him but his nephew who was also a concierge. About 2 minutes before the off at the Oaks he called from the Royal enclosure and gave us the 20/1 winner with the classic "lump on lads and we did". He got that from the chauffeur who drove the owners to Epsom they were discussing how much to lump on (£20,000 I think).

Anyway it won in a photo, happy days, I had about 4 winners that day, of all people my mate didn't back it because he didn't trust his nephew's tips.

Er no. There is nothing in that article that says Everton are in for him at all. It's just a load of comments from Everton fans saying `if Palace are going for him then we should get him`.

Reading their forums, he gets a bit if a mention but not a lot. Still think he may go there or even Spurs now, as Gattuso is not going.
Favre doesnít get a mention on Sours forum, they think Nuno or Martinez!
