If we can bring Clyne and Cahill back from the departed ones, then add a proper right back, a young central defender, an adequate replacement for Wilf, Conor Gallagher (from Chelsea), some surprises, and 2 players from the Under-23/18 squads.

8 new players??? If we bring in 3 I would be pleasantly surprised but 8 ain't gonna happen.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

I still think Mateus Pereira and Joachim Andersen would be amazing buys. Cost a fair bit though which we probably don't have.

I am informed that Brighton are interested in signing Joe Rodon and Daniel James, possibly Rodon on loan.I happen to believe that these players would make a positive contribution at our club. Edited by Willo (05 Jul 2021 8.53am)

Edited by Willo (05 Jul 2021 8.53am) I haven’t been ‘informed’ by anyone, neither have I been for an earwigging stroll down my local beach this morning…however you’d have to have been in a coma or run out of data not to have seen the hundred or so articles about it online and in the media yesterday.

Yes, our recovery period is not good. Ferguson did his ACL before we bought him. Should have been back in full training before Christmas and in the team by New Year. We never saw him...

Edited by Willo (05 Jul 2021 8.53am) I'm not so sold on Rodon who looks like he has mistakes in him; however, Dan James would be a major coup. The boy is so quick he reminds me of Billy Whizz, whereupon even when he makes mistakes he can recover and sprint 50-yards to correct them. I hope Brighton don't get him. Imagine trying to defend both James and Lamptey running at pace. I think we'll see a couple of players come in from France on Vieira's recommendation and then a couple that Dougie has been scouting, with a couple of youngsters stepping up to fill the gaps. Parish has already spoken about how he felt the squad was too big last year, so I don't expect to see us sign more than four new players.

Fear not, there will be no further responses to the replay of that tattered old reel casting aspersions as to my honesty and integrity by accusations of canards,according all your odium directed at me shall go unanswered. This is my response to those who believe they add value to HOL by using me as a human dartboard.You are not alone - they are filed under the category "Do not respond". I suspect I will greatly disappoint those casting lines in the hope I bite.

I do feel we need a right-back and perhaps Jonjoe Kenny would fit the bill.Fleet of foot,a good crosser of a ball and originally played in midfield.
