Caesar ad sum I am forte Latin was compulsory for the first 3 years at SJC. Needless to say, by lesson two in the first year I knew what subject I’d be dropping in three years time.

a resurgence of Latin ? it could do wonders for Tourism to Romania. They seem to have retained much Latin. The same Latin that was lost by Western Romance languages. why bother learning a dead language, like Latin, when you can just learn three or four living Romance languages instead. More fun. You could sit on a bench, at the town-square in mountain rural Sardinia and converse with an elderly.....getting up to 90% of Latin but without the 'classroom experience'.
