That in its self would not surprise me. IMO, we are much more likely to be looking for another loan or two.

Nketiah is a very good player but recently injured. Not sure we want another walking wounded signing. The beatings will stop when morale improves.

To be truthful, I am not enthusiastic about either of these players.

Apropos Armstrong he can slip seamlessly into the Ings role alongside Che Adams and will in all probability get more starts than he would for us.

Still on something close to zero net in this window and that makes them more solvent than most.

Given our purchases so far and absence of income from sales I'm actually quite happy to pass on this one unless it was a bargain (for me under 15 mill). No particular angst on missing out on targets.

We did put a bid in and it is alleged that we ere the lad's preferred destination among the existing suitors. We should know by the end of the day how serious we were. Either we match/gazump Saints or we get off the proverbial pot and move on.

I suspect we are more interested in getting a wide player in.
