I would only say Norwich at the moment, the other 2 spots could be anyone. Teams not showing any form might come good after Christmas. There was a period where we didn’t get going till January and we always managed to turn it around. I think this happened at least a couple of times under Roy’s management.

Two points

You need to be in touch at Christmas and that depends to a degree on the 4th worst team and how lower ranked teams take points off each other

To get a second half renaissance you need to gel a team together in about 16 game weeks (post transfer window). That is very difficult to do if you go for a complete style change. Pulis (the best really for turnaround), Pardew and Allardyce all managed it by tapping into "our way". Roy had a longer shot at it and began well before January. He came in September. The other seasons we were settled already.

Newcastle could well be on about 10 points (terrible fixtures to come) and looking at a complete revamp. Going down I say.

We needed that win yesterday especially with Burnley winning and potentially Leeds today things are tightening up at the bottom apart from Norwich. Newcastle will buy there way out of trouble so we can't rely on them going down.

I don't think we are going down but yesterday was a Brucie bonus and perfect timing.

Who do you think they will buy all the top players are on mega money and want the champions league not the championship

Man City model, year on year improvement until you are good enough to attract the stars.

You are correct top players will not go to Newcastle in January but they can get better players than they have now and then improve on that next summer.

So if you are a mercenary player you can fill your pockets. They don't need Messi yet just better than what they have e.g. Aaron Ramsey £300,000 pw.

Sandcastle are in a bit of a tricky situation at the moment, if they cant get a quality manager in as the first proper building block to their rebuilding then they will have to get someone who is a specialist at keeping clubs in the League as interim boss -

They were lucky to get a point of us & lost today so its going to be a tough period for them until January.

Sam turned down the WBA job because he couldn't commit long term - I would have thought he would be ideal for Sandcastle to steady the ship either until January or until the end of the season -

The bottom 10 clubs are all in the mix and any of these could find themselves in the bottom 3 come seasons end.
Norwich look already gone.
Newcastle in January could simply invest millions into their squad to avoid the humiliation of the drop( or heads will roll!!)

Norwich, Newcastle and Watford.

I think Brentford could get dragged into the mix as well.

Unless Newcastle pick up in a big way prior to the January window, I think they will have major problems getting the right players into their club.

Some of the names being bandied about ( managers included ) don't strike me as the kind that will fight a relegation battle.

Agree. Big November for them, playing Norwich and Newcastle and December with a lot of away games and Citeh at the end.

Sandcastle - tremendous. I’d love it, absolutely love it if they went down. Sick of the loud mouthed Geordies up here mouthing off about how they’re the next Man City.

Norwich are horrendous.

We seen enough relegations in the past, but bar maybe '97, we've at least put up a fight.
