Two reds in two games for Palace, we have discipline issues.

Plus one from the big boy's team in the pre season friendlies

I don't think we in any way looked out of our depth in the game and gave a good account of ourselves. Had we not gone down to 10 men then we may well have got something from it.

Is this the down side of the new win at all costs coaching philosophy?

I suspect it may be a case of players adapting to a new system, i.e the high press.

In a high press we are asking attack minded players to do something they are not used to doing, tackle. This is not natural to their game and so will be cumbersome and make mistakes as they learn to adapt.

As for the midfielders, again we are probably going to be selecting midfielders who are more ball plying, attack minded midfielders rather than the defensive minded midfielders and so again these types of midfielders are not as comfortable or used to tackling hence mistimed and rash tackles.

I think it's just a transitional thing of all the concerns I have of this transition this is not one of them, it will come quite quickly.

Fingers crossed so long as the red cards stay in the U23s.
