What is this fixation with statues? It would be okay if there was a chance that they might flatter the subject, but, with a few exceptions, they are hideous travesties.

Given our new investor & his hologram past company - couldn't we do something where a number of holograms are produced ( past players / managers club icons) & this are used & interchanged periodically so its not like one permanent choice.

Roger de Coursey and Nookie Bear Fulham had a Michael Jackson statue bcos Fayed was a fan, so who are the pop icons for our present or past owners? Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion?

seriously though, West Ham have Moore, Hurst and Peters on the Barking Road, if I had to choose three I'd go for John Jackson, Jim Cannon and Steve Coppell

Very rare to find a modern sculpture that goes anywhere near a resemblance of the subject. Especially sporting figures. Hopefully Mr Parish and Co will prefer to spend money on players or club infrastructure rather than vanity projects.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

If anyone it should be Malcolm Allison. It was his rebranding project that means we are Eagles and red & blue. Without Big Mal we wouldn't be who we are today.
I am ready, are you? Sheffield here we come. |

The reality is, there is no Palace player worthy of this. To have a statue of someone barely recognised outside the club (and who won F all) would be embarrassing. Having said that, if it had to happen, I’d go for Wright and Bright because they were iconic and achieved some actual success at the top level.
