being Female AND ethnic, Emma scores two out of three for media PC box-ticking.

Whilst not being a fan of the BBC I think that you are going wildly over the top.

She was a qualifier for this major tournament and has got through to the final without losing a set which is a massive achievement for someone so relatively inexperienced and I very much doubt whether her ethnicity has anything to do with it

I was lucky enough to be at Wimbledon this year and saw her win her match. I was seated in the front row by the baseline and noticed that there is something infectious about her personality which radiated to the crowd. I think the two fed off of each other. At times it was like a football crowd. I assumed that the home girl on home soil was relevant, but I see that the US crowd have taken to her too, judging by the support she is getting. A truly pleasant girl.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

The Raducanu Rise just outside the courts will be full of cheer next summer.

I used to put the manager's name in front of Red and Blue but got fed up with changing it. If someone cool becomes our manager then maybe..

Red and Blue Army!

Agreed. If anything it is desperation to see a British female tennis player succeed. Dear old Ginny Wade was the last to get to a grand slam final (and win) all of 44 years ago.

She is, yes. What I really like about watching her play, aside from her spectacular range of shots, is the fact that she doesn't shriek every time she hits the ball, neither does she yell loudly when she wins a point a la Andy Murray for instance. She appears very focused and under control.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The first qualifier ever to get to the final of a tennis major.

Only the fourth British female to get to a major singles final in the open era (Jones, Wade, Barker, Raducanu).

I agree and I do seem to remember both a Murray and Henman fest on the bbc
