Brilliant performance from the team today!

Spurs were poor, but I think that shows how well our guys played, and stopped their game. Kane barely touched the ball.

How much changes in 90 minutes, Zara starts the game his old snarling self, and all ends in smiles. He finally has some attacking talent around him, what a team we could have in a few weeks time when Eze is back!

First time I have seen Gallagher, a great talent, he could be world class in a couple of seasons. Hope we get our years worth from him!

Benteke didnít look happy about coming off, and after Edouards first 8 minutes in a Palace shirt, I can see why!

The defence still looks a bit suspect at times, so I can see a few goals being conceded. But compared to the negative tactics over the last few years, Iím excited by what this team can offer. COYP!

First PL game ever that Kane has had no shots and no touches in opposition box. Wonder if media will pick up on that? Perhaps had he not been complaining all game he might have remembered why he was there

Gallagher was crying out to Ward to pass the ball forward to him several times when in a dangerous position. He failed to do so on each occasion. On a good day Ward gets by but he has little vision and attacking flair.

The back four had a superb game and Wardy just edged the others although Guehi and Andersen have a brilliant partnership.

Blimey, it's one win.

Today was great, and I'm up for the gamble of changing style, but the simple fact is that Hodgson didn't have this group of players (or one comparable to it) to work with, so we'll never know what he might have done.

Not sure they would have joined a Roy team and not sure he would have wanted them

I enjoyed the performance every bit as much as anyone else. I was worrying after the sending off that it was going to be one of those games! When everything is going right, except the one vital thing. We were missing chance after chance, so I feared Spurs might sneak another 1-0 with their only shot on target. But the penalty changed that, and left them open for the second and third.

The negatives about Roy though disappoint me. He did his job. Which was to keep us in the league whilst Parish did his. Roy is as much part of today's success as anyone else, and we need to pay tribute to him.

Absolutely right!

(but good for us, that we've moved on from RH is seemingly (early days) in a positive direction).

Just got back home after the game and for the first time in a very long time Iím very happy with a win and the performance. It was exciting, high tempo and a pleasure to watch, itís like PV has taken the handbrake off.
Not having a dig at Roy he did what he did and kept us in the premier league, but his teams were very pedestrian where as this team played with lots of energy. I know one game does not a season make, however I feel Iíve got my mojo back, think Iím going to enjoy the ride.

Those that watched on TV was it a penalty? Linesman gave it. Why were Kane and Alli arguing both were nowhere near the incident, continued to argue after VAR

I have not felt so optimistic after watching a match in many years.

The new centre backs are fantastic together and give a real calm to the back 4, and you can see how this has transformed Mitchell.

Zaha looked like he has finally stopped stropping and maybe he can achieve European football by staying with us.

Gallagher is a fantastic addition add looks like he will go on to bigger and better things. McCarthur brings the experience and even Luka managed a wonder pass when he came on that I never knew he had in him.

Edouard looks like he could be what we have been missing for years, a natural goalscorer and Olise showed glimpses of his class even within a few minutes of coming on.

With Eze and Ferguson in the wings and a very strong bench I really think we could have a great season and top 8 is certainly possible.

Cant wait to see how we play next week. Will be a big test, but I think we will give them a good game.

What a great feeling, long may this continue..

Some people are like Slinkies Ö not really good for anything, but you canít help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Got home after jungle running & heavy beers to see Palace had slaughtered the team top of the table. Didn;t bother coming home in pouring rain to watch it as I thought we'd lose.
But NO! 3 f^cking nil, are you sure? I bought the security guy a beer & he's a Liverpool fan. Now maybe not.
Chelsea, watch out.....

So Eddy today, scoring 2 goals, was just doing his job? Thats it? Nothing to lord about? Tell that to the previous posters on here!

So indulge me - you seriously think Ward at this stage of his career (Iíve already accepted that he has previously been a great servant) is a premiership standard right back..??

Beyond that given the class and ability we now have in the squad - he is at that level and tell me how and why..??

Simple question just needs a simple answer..!!

Donít dance around other posters this is about my opinion and yours..!!

Iíll freely admit I think Ward is way passed his best, and has been for a few seasons and that we should have replaced him in the summer - in fact should have replaced him the moment AWB left - thatís what 2 seasons ago..!!

Letís be honest - he wasnít good enough when AWB came into the side as an unproven youngster - now all of a sudden what 4 seasons later and 4 years older in a much better squad heís at that/this level - do me a favour..!!

But football is all about opinion and this site is about reasoned debate so from that perspective within reason everyoneís point of view is valid..!!

Iíll leave it with Iíll guarantee if Ward remains in situ (which he wonít) heíll cost us far more than he will benefit us and will become a liability - if he isnít that already..!!

Great servant but this team and squad is way above his ability and capabilities..!!

Funny how all our recent managers have kept faith with him isnít,iit.Early on today he misplaced a few passes as did other players like Jimmy Mac but thought he had a good game.He has and is a fantastic servant of our club and knows how to defend which is the basic principle of a right back.

fantastic servant, abs legend etc etc but should now be reserve full back, called upon, like Kelly, to do a job when required, that's when players like him play well - he was very good today, esp one pass he played down an inside channel into the box when there was a more obvious but less effective pass outside (we were attacking the holmesdale at the time) but he should not be playing first team more than about 15 times in a season
