It's a combination of him being our most valuable ever player (since we never sold Zaha) and our player of the Season. "Even Palace" is basically saying despite all that his home club wouldn't want him back.

I actually think it's a bit sensationalist but on the other side, he flourished where he was the last man back in a defensive Hodgson Team. I'm not sure he'd particularly relish playing for Vieira.

That's why it's also so bizarre United went for him in the first place. When you plan to have over 60% of the ball and win most games, you see the type of players top Clubs go for - Walker, Cancelo, Trent, Robertson etc.
