Vieira got it spot on in his post match interview. It was a great defensive performance, matched by us taking our chances and a bit of luck. Which was missing in recent games. We also didn't make any silly errors.

MOTD cannot do the performance justice. We were up against it throughout and had to constantly throw back waves of attacks. Keeping their concentration so well, for so long, with great calmness is not only of huge credit to the players but also to the coaching team who have installed the awareness and belief in them.

We also looked a threat whenever we got forward, which wasn't often for most of the game. We definitely deserved to win, but we also did against Arsenal, Brighton, Newcastle and Leicester. This time though we did. Happy days.

As I said earlier in this thread - look at Macarthur, last season he could barely last 90 mins, now he's playing for that time and at twice the pace!

Whatever has changed on the training ground, they all seem faster, fitter and have more staying power - some of them seem positively rejuvenated (Ward?)

I think they are just enjoying it more now becky. Sure the training must have changed, but with the new additions and PV's tactics it's as though the shackles and maybe the pressure has been lifted.

Long may it continue ............

That Olise is some player. His build-up and assist to Gallager's sweet-sweet goal are just pure class. Imagine Olise, Edouard, and Zaha on top, Gallagher, MacArthur, and Eze in midfield.
Credit to the whole team today and Zaha's celebration when CG scored - think he has finished his tantrums about leaving us. Hopefully for good!

Was in the home stands today due to getting complimentary tickets. Our fans were immense, City's fans were foaming at the mouth. I heard CG shout for the ball from high in the rafters, outstanding team today.

Everybody gas said it all a superb performance by all the players and even more outstanding was Viera's selection, tactics and substitutions, fantastic

Olise is really good to watch. He has a great eye for a pass and they’re usually perfectly weighted. Looking forward to seeing him and Eze particularly; they should be able to find space for each other. With Wilf and Edouard roaming around we'll be hard to defend.

What a great performance and a massive 3 points after the last few draws. Master struck by PV playing Zaha up front and I must say Ward was immense today. He is like a new player this season.

Ayew did a job for an hour. Olise did a better job in 30 mins. Same as every game this season.

MOTD only praising Palace - not simply criticising the play of the opposition to justify the result - the narrative is changing ...

Palace were brilliant today. The 5 new signings all look exceptional players. Viera clearly is making the very best of what the team have to offer. Guita didn’t have one shot to save ( except disallowed goal) despite all the possession city had. Things look really positive for palace. It’s just incredible they can be so different and better than Roy’s set up just a few months ago .

A Guita save was shown on MOTD, albeit that it was hit straight at him in the centre of the goal. You still have to hold them though; which he did.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Must’ve been a good one - according to the BBC Guita was man of the match.

It's refreshing to see his composure in the final third, something our attackers have lacked in the past. Not sure how eze will fit in this team.
