I think you're getting a bit carried away. Things are going tremendously well at the moment there's no doubt but at some point we are going to have some injuries and that's when our results could start to fall away. You only have to look at Leeds and see how their results have suffered because they have several players out.

Having been going to Palace since 1964, it would be great to see us compete in Europe and I would love to go while I still can. Our football is the most watchable since that brief period in the seventies when we reached the FA Cup semi final from the Third Division. The test will come when we have to replace Connor Gallagher and the big boys come sniffing around the Manager.

As much as I love pure fantasy chats, I think we need to remember some context.

Whilst I appreciate a tricky opening set of fixtures, new manager etc people saying "we're doing amazingly well" need to remember we're as close to the relegation spots as we are Champions League football, we're only 1 win ahead of Brentford and still behind BHA! The idea we could throw in X number of games in the Europa Conference league, playing f*** knows who, from God knows where seems well beyond where we are in the table and where we are as a club.

As others have said however, it drives me mad we don't go all out on the FA Cup, be absolutely brilliant to finally win the bloody thing and then as a bonus I might even pay attention to the Community shield!

Lets get there before complaining that we are not ready for it.
In answer to the posters question, yes IF (big if) we maintain the same confident form and possession AND keep all key players fit then why not have aspirations to finish 8th or 7th. That is not beyond us.
Addressing the poster I'm replying to I would say yes. Actually competing in Europe right now would stretch us more that we could cope with but you'd hope, with e extra TV revenue, sponsorship, gate reciepts and corporate spending that will come in due to European football that the board would see good business sense and justification in purchasing 3 or 4 more players to cope with the extra games.
Dont forget there are some poor quality teams in the early rounds of the Europa League. Butland, Hughes, Tomkins, etc would actually get a start!
