It is obvious what Andersen was thinking but if he looks over his shoulder and sees the run of Afobe then I suspect he tracks the run.

I have made my case, clearly others disagree and I really have nothing more to add.HOL would be poorer if it was merely an 'Echo chamber'.
I shall ignore the slurs about me not being qualified to make judgements etc etc etc.

On a positive note, credit to our team for coming back from a goal down in front of howling rottweillers and scoring two excellent goals to win.Well done!

It’s a relief that you have nothing more to add as you are clearly commenting on an aspect of the game you have no understanding of.

You have not made your case, all you have done is highlight your complete lack of comprehension of that particular situation, which also brings into question anything you might say in the future about positional sense or defending.

Never in a million years should Andersen track the run of Afobe, it is laughable and embarrassing to even suggest such a thing. As berlinpalace has said, it was such a straightforward pass to Andersen, he should in no way have compromised his position, as that was the option on for Butland.

I stand firmly behind my comments.
You have an alternative viewpoint but I have not sought to vilify you or accuse you of a lack of comprehension or lack of knowledge.Nor have I meted out such treatment to others who are on your side of the argument.

Suffice to say I will not respond to any further comments you wish to make.

I accept there will be some, probably many, who will conclude that I am being harsh on Andersen and spouting hogwash.

Come on, Willo. You're having a shocker here. You can't seriously be suggesting that a defender should be tracking a runner into his own 6 years box whilst we have possession?

I don't need to see any replay's to know that Butland was 100% at fault. As the pundits said, in that scenario, Butland should have hoofed it the moment he realised he was in trouble.

Sorry, Willo but I think you are digging a hole for yourself here. When playing out from the back the idea is surely to break through any press. For that to happen, defenders need to place themselves in positions to receive the ball from either the keeper or another defender. Andersen was in the right place. Unfortunately, Butland dithered and lost control of the ball instead of passing out to Andersen (taking the two Millwall forwards out of the game) or hoofing it up field if he felt that pass wasn't fully on. For me it was clearly Butland's error and no blame should be laid at Andersen's door.

I have watched this back several times now, it is 100% down to Butland and to even partly attribute blame to Andersen is laughable IMHO (and I'm generally very supportive of Willo). The pass was simple until Butland took an extra, un-necessary touch. He had a brain fart, it's as simple as that. It happens. I remember Jules' home debut when he tried to dribble round an Everton forward, failed and conceded a penalty - didn't stop him going on to become a legend.

That particular chant is actually factually correct. Gallagher is on loan to us, therefore we are renting him for a season.

How you wish to interpret the chant is down to the individual.

Yes I thought it was quite clever TBF

In the final analysis, it was Butland who presented the opportunity to Afobe to score so of course he is culpable, however he was faced with a situation whereby TWO Millwall players closed him down without any of his teammates near him.

I totally understand this playing out from the back and beating the press etc etc and the thinking of Andersen based on this philosophy, however Afobe was allowed to run free into the box at a time when another Millwall player was advancing on Butland to close him down. The player who had a free run eventually scored.

I think we will have to agree to disagree, I don't wish to add any more on this subject.
Would far rather channel my comments regarding the splendid victory after going a goal down and the excellent goals we scored.

Just because the knee gets booed (I don’t boo, for the record) doesn’t mean that everyone booing is a racist. A lot of people just don’t like BLM and the fact that they smashed up and defaced THEIR city a couple of summers ago. They find them divisive, and feel they cause more problems than they solve. That’s their opinion and they’ve a right to it. Doesn’t make them all racist.

We’ve got plenty of black fans and we, us snarling racists, have voted black players as our player of the season on numerous occasions. There are lots black people who are seen as Millwall legends, both on and off the pitch, down The Den and held in very high regard down there.

“Amazingly they have some black fans too” 😂 …. Clown

I used to guiltily chuckle when some Millwall fans chanted for their star striker by cleverly combining it with what suspiciously sounded like a monkey chant: 'Ooh Ooh Fashanu'

I accept your suave blandishment with good grace.
Some clearly prefer 'Willoese' flying off my linguistic dodgem.
