if another club makes an offer, and we accept it, does Benteke have much say in the matter? I'm sure he could throw his toys around and protest, but would it change the outcome once he knows his current club doesn't want him?

He doesn't have to agree personal terms - or sign the agreement. It will depend on how much he wants to actually play football. It'll be obvious that we're happy to sell him, therefore no longer in our future plans. But he's well within his rights to turn it down and either warm the bench or fight for a place in the team until his current contract expires.

Jairo held out when we tried to dump him on to Swansea, and went on to play in the PL for us. If he doesn't want the move he doesn't have to.

I agree with all of this. I found it odd, therefore, that we sold Andros - but perhaps we needed the fee, and there was the compromise (especially when no bid for tekkers was forthcoming!) We didnt, his contract expired and whilst he had a new contract offer from us, his old pal got in touch so he went to Everton

The chances are that Benteke, agent gets a tap, Palace get an offer. The media guesses how much the offer might be. Benteke, says to club, I m not keen, club says good neither are we. Everyone says , that’s that then.

Benteke will (unfortunately for Me) not leave, because he has a cushy 9/10m to get sitting on the Bench for another 18 months, by then he will be 33, and say goodbye and thanks for the money, Suckers

Everything is so loaded in a players favour they can more or less dictate what they want, including downing tools and not playing.

Unfortunately Benteke only 'ups' tools 6 games before contract renewal. No pace, no passion, offload and recoup some cash. Mateta is better.
