What do we think will be Palace's final points total for the season? I go on 44. And how many to avoid relegation? I say 35. Anyone else?

We need to finish in the top ten however many points that needs,
ive got 20 euros at 11 to 1

We may regret all those points thrown away earlier. I know that we should have at least four more points (last minute equalizers from Brighton and Arsenal).

Can you think of any more?

We are a team in progress after the stonewall approach in previous years.

If we match last season's points I will be satisfied pretty safe in the knowledge we will improve as Vieira gains experience.

He has started well and apart from a rigid adherence to 4-3-3 and some questionable substitutions the future with him looks bright.

I am hopeful we will emulate the 'team of the 70's' and become the team of the 2200s as we pursue the establishment of talented youngsters.

I doubt I'll be around then or even any great-grandchildren we might have!

If we are going to get the points required to stay up, we need another striker Orige (the guy from Liverpool) plus, why aren't we going for Jesse Lingard, great midfielder who scores goals. We would get him for 5 million at the very most. You could build a team around him, look what he did for Spam! Get 10 for Benteke and he can help Burnley stay up ........ maybe!
i'm afraid we are still goal shy.
we need to impose ourselves more on other teams, we let them take the initiative and we're fighting to get back in the game. Close teams down quickly, don't give them the chance to move ball around, making us chase all the time.
We also need a right back that doesn't make mistakes.

We should finish around 15th. Points around 38 to 40 if we play well.
The standard of the PL is higher than ever, but we need to stop being too cautious against the better sides and take the chances we create.

Snap. I have £20 at 5/1. But I don't think we're going to make it. Best hope is for 11th, realistically, if you look at the teams above us we would have to overtake.

i'll be happy with 40 points and c15th. We have played more games than most teams below us so i can see us slipping down a bit. For all his faults RH ensured we beat the bottom teams - last year we got 16 out of 18 against the bottom 3. Can't see that happening this season so need to get some points from other games.

Whilst we have more attacking flair we are so naive at times. Starting slowly is becoming a habit and conceding from corners is becoming predictable.

Also it seems that the minimum points required to stay in the league gets lower every couple of years - 40 used the be the magic number, then that became 38 , which became 36, this year I struggle to see any of the bottom 3 teams getting to 32 -

Forgive an old geezer's typo

It should read 'Team of the 2020's'

I am hopeful at 82 I'll still be around to see it !!

Naturally it depends on how poor the bottom 3 teams are, last season 29 points would have been enough to stay up.
