But in Wilf's case, if he still wants Champions League football, I don't think Newcastle will provide that in the next couple of years. As for Eze, the problem he faces is that PV hasn't seen him play to the standard he displayed ( at times ) last season. And I'm not sure that he can get back to that level in what's left of this season. So far PV hasn't rushed him back, which I think is the right approach. If Wilf is realistic he should know that horse has bolted. No one has come seriously in for his services, even when he was in top form. My Euro team is Roma (long story) and I look at them, currently 7th in Serie A, Mourinho manager, Tammy Abraham up front, looking unlikely for a CL spot. Maybe a stint in Turkish football will suit Wilf.

There’s much more to keeping Gallagher than just being able meet Chelsea’s asking price. What about what he thinks. I’m sure Palace would not be on his shortlist as a long term prospect.
