Movie Trivia.

He turned down the role that Sam Neil played in Jurassic Park. I remember a journalist writing that he was an idiot as it went on to be a global hit.

However I think that Hurt would have realised that, a film made by the hottest director in town backed by a major studio with a big budget and lots of dinosaurs with new breath taking 3d effects, it had hit written all over it.

No I prefer to think that Hurt guessed it would be a hit but just wasn't interested in that sort of role and his acting choices seem to back that up.
