Bored, recovering from COVID, did a search of the player database on this site and came up with two Malcolms: Malcolm Comrie (1935/36) made 2 appearances; and Malcolm Pyke (1959/60) also made two appearances. Let's hope it's third time lucky with Malcolm Ebiowei!

Don't tell him your name Ebiowei.

Somehow that doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I also thought he had died in a car crash but Wikipedia says he had a 'near fatal' motorcycle accident, so I'm glad to say he is still alive.

So maybe Matt was that '1 in a million' player.

You should read his book. Very interesting and a bit sad with how his life went after the accident. He did indeed meet with and was shmoozed by Sir Alec Ferguson. He chose Palace for one simple reason. Palace told him he'd go straight into the first team. United said he would be a squad player and have to wait for his chance.
I'm sure he'd have done it differently if he could have done it all over. At his best, what a player!

Not saying it will, or should, BUT, Wayne Rooney has walked away from Derby, he asked to be relieved of his duties with immediate affect.

I was surprised he stayed as long as he did, his reputation will surely have improved by his time there, some guy Cowans ? has just bought the ground & is (apparently) ready to buy the rest of the club so this would appear to be a good time for him to walk away with his head held high.

I doubt he will be out of work long.

He has been very critical of the way the club has been run financially and clearly didn't want to be involved.
Think he has plenty to offer football.

According to another click bait article, we were due to beat TOTTENHAM to his signature yesterday.

My cousin who is a mad Derby supporter says Ediowei is twice as good as Plange and would fit into our team well .
On Rooney he thinks it is because he gave a list of players he wanted to join Derby and it was turned down .

Well if this guy Clowes has just bought the ground -
He is apparently trying to buy the rest of the club, once he owns it he has to try to understand what it is he has actually bought, what management & players he has left, then try to get to grips with what life is going to be like in the lower division, how best to prepare Derby for that season - any list that Rooney may have submitted may be absolutely what they need but because all this has taken so long to get to this stage it may well be that the timing of pushing to buy a number of new players (which will need additional financing) is not on their side.

Any new owner may well end up having to spend a season or two adjusting to life owning a football club & consolidating their position

Fairplay to Dougie if this is true. Sounds almost comical the lengths we have to go to to sign a player.

Maybe Dougie is now driving to Lens as we speak to pick up Doucoure in the Palace minibus.
