Good finish from Eze which will be good for his confidence and rehab progress but a special mention for Clyne chasing a lost cause and supplying a great cross. No spring chicken but still showing class.

1. on MOTD Jenas gave a good explanation of how the injury impacted Eze as he had the same one himself. After recovery the muscles around the ankle still lack that explosive power to get past a player over 5 yards. This explains why fans moan that Eze ambles around and doesn't take people on.

The good news is that it looks like he is getting his fitness back so as other have said if he has a good end to the season and a good pre season hopefully he will be back to full fitness.

2. Clyne seems to be getting better and better starting to look like his old self. I am not sure we need AWB if he keeps performing.

When Nat was here previously i thought he was the best RB we've ever had, even better than Doris.

Very much agree with both points.

Will also add for Eze that speed was never his ‘thing’. He seems to do better with his deception and movement in leaving players chasing shadows as opposed to just breezing past them, saw a bit of that yesterday so hopefully he won’t be too effected.

With regards to Clyne, I said something similar after Leeds. He looked low on confidence for me at the beginning of the season but now looks to be regaining that including the confidence in his own ability. Let’s hope he’s on an upwards trajectory and my personal right-back anxiety may start to diminish.

Still buzzing after yesterday! COYP!!!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Yep, me too.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It was looked at, commentator mentions it on the MOTD review. What is even more boggling is, why didn't VAR give it? It's a clear pen.

100%. Mateta at his absolute best is marginally better than Tekkers and Eduoard at their worst. He’s not the answer. New striker top priority.

I was in boxpark arfter the semi final and Andy Johnson was on stage saying we need a 20 gaal a season striker.

Teend to agree with him.

So pleased for Eze that goal will help his mental fitness let alone is physical fitness , still working towards next season when he should be fully back .

Always said Zaha would be better coming of the bench but he did look ok with being on the bench and sure he will start next game .

we need to win our next game to go above Brighton but cant see why not.

Ward looked ok at left back again , Clyne looked good but we still need a younger RB going forward with this team .

This season has had alot of pluses to many people wrote us off before the season started most on here , strange nobody said the same when Wenger went to arsenal he didn't achieve much , arsenal supporters i speak to want our Pat , but cant see him going for at least 2 years then see what happens

So roll on next season but lets finish in style this season .

IM LOUD IM PROUD IM PALACE TILL I DIE

100% Salah would have got that, he goes to ground very easily. As CT said it depends on what badge you have on your shirt, always has always will

Not only would Salah have got the pen but prob a yellow and possibly a red card for the stamp.

VAR can review without a stoppage of play, right? Based on what I saw, the defender did reach in and step on Gallagher's "toe" but it was hard to tell if he caught much of the boot or really just a sliver where the upper meets the sole plate. In my view, there wasn't enough to overturn the no-call.

It doesn't help Gallagher that he goes down a little too quickly. If I were in his boots, I'd be a bit more judicious about going to ground – it's a boy who cried wolf thing, similar to that of the old Wilf. Going down easily/animatedly ends up hurting them when they actually get fouled.

The turn to get into that position was world class and he was a touch unlucky not to get the call as the defence was all over the place but not quite enough in the touch for an overcall as you say. Anyhow it was a very good away win with a fair few solid performances. Nice to come back from behind for a change. Onwards and upwards and still a chance to be higher than the Weed this season. COYP !!

When I saw the immediate replay, I said VAR will give that! It was as clear as anything could ever be on camera, but easily missed by the ref, so exactly what VAR is for. I am soon seeing my friend, Simon Long, who is a Premier League assistant, and sometimes sits in Stockley Park on VAR duty, what his explanation is!

When I saw yesterday's line up, I was surprised but on reflection thought it clever.

Southampton would have prepared their strategy, expecting Ward-Prowse to do his usual job of niggling Wilf. Him being benched through them into a muddle, and they didn't know what to expect, so went into their shell. A rested Wilf, with a point to prove, then came on with Southampton on the back foot hoping to protect a lead.

The rest is history.
