I've noticed that over recent years (of which, at my age, there have been far too many) that I tend to dislike all the new kits on release but some of them grow on me as the season wears on. That said, this year's model does strike me as a particularly offensive example of the trend towards modernisation. Last year's diagonal stripes I could take as a new wrinkle on an established concept; the "graffiti" look this season strikes me as entirely unnecessary concession to artistic diarrhea. I daresay the club would be well on the way to commissioning Jackson Pollock to design next year's kit but for the fact that he's dead.
