If that's the case then I hope we swerve him. I'd be disappointed if we paid over £25m for him.

exactly. £25m is a great price for a bloke who has had one good season in the Championship. If Wolves have turned that down then the price they want is clearly too much.

Move on

If you want to really keep track of our transfer activity, I'd suggest the thing to do is to watch Chelsea's games on their US tour this week and next. See how much, and how well Connor plays and in what role. That may provide the biggest clue to our next move in the market.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Good suggestion -
Also, obviously difficult to gauge accuracy of clickbait media reports but most that I have read on CFC transfer interest seem to indicate that they will focus on strikers & defenders suggesting that they are already overloaded on midfielders -

Who knows ?

Or that they have the correct amount of midfielders and are happy with who they already have in those positions.

Unless Chelsea, have made it absolutely clear that there is no chance of a deal of one sort or another for Connor, then there is no reason to suppose Palace will not remain in for him, only taking an alternative if Chelsea, keep us waiting to long.
Or put a deal beyond our finances.

Connor has gone. Chelsea have made it clear they want him and he wants them. Even in the event of an unlikely turn around he’s way out of our financial means….move on.

If Benteke goes the other way that would get the price down and make us the leading contenders.

Just reported on Sky that Forest have agreed a deal of 44.5 million for MGW

Insane.

A player deemed not ready for Wolves' first team last season now moves for a fee of 44.5 million! That shows what relative bargains we got in Eze and Olise.

Up to £17mil in add-ons!

It may very well be 'if we win the Champions league and domestic double next season etc.' however could just be on appearances, avoiding relegation and so on. Still ludicrous in my eyes, the words 'dodged' and 'bullet' come to mind.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
