Didint we buy him while injured? I'm amazed he passed the medical. But yes I feel sorry for him and I hope he is able to salvage some career in football.

He failed the medical so we didn’t sign him at the time but after surgery we got him on a free. (I may not be 100% on that)

Sad news for the lad but not many of us would get his salary for being off work so that should cushion the pain. I can see him doing a Connor Wickham, ending up at a smaller club have a great couple of games and then get a long term injury. Good luck to him though.

I remember thinking he must have run through all sorts of pain at the medical to pass. Either our medical staff weren't up to it that day or he went through a sort of hood-winking pain barrier which worsened a pre-existing. He was immediately injured on day 1. Very odd signing.

We knew he was injured so the medical just confirmed it.
