We don't need to offer Ward AND Clyne a new contract at the end of the season. That was the problem last summer.

We should have kept one of them and bought a new right back. It took until January for Freedman and Co to figure that one out.

Nathan Ferguson played 64 minutes last night in the U21 Quarter final against Fulham-

The game itself didn't go so well, we gave away a sloppy goal from a goalkeeper / defender mix up early on & never really recovered ending up losing 3;0

Let's just hope he can get fit and stay fit. And in the off season works at strengthening and conditioning... it's highly likely that we'll lose three centre backs in the off season and Clyne too, Guehi, Tomkins and Chambers and I believe he can cover CB as well as RWB?

Hmm, just because the blogs say the big boys are going to take our players does not make it so. We have not sold anyone of high worth and value since AWB 5 years ago.

Of those you mention, I can see Guehi remaining (partly down to injury), Clyne staying one more season, but Tomkins...

We have a physio room full of CBs, but Hodgson would only play him in extremis; and Glasner would rather our most experienced midfielder went makeshift CB than risk playing Tomkins. I will eat the non-existent hat if he is not gone this summer.

Its hard to make a case for this guy. He's basically been injured for 4 years solid now.

Even if he can put the injuries behind him, what state is he going to be in. Surely those 4 years are critical to development?

I don't think we should really worry too much. He's never going to play for us. I don't even really feel sorry for him anymore if I tell the truth. I feel kind of bad that I have no affinity for him but it's dragged on longer than the Korean War. It feels like a waste even mentioning him.

Stupid comments from people that have never played the game...injures happen.. I hope he does come back into the picture.. he does have ability and can play right across the back four which is more than useful.. he needs a good pre season then who knows.. still young enough....

Funny or just coincidence that he is getting fit just a few months before his contract is up

This could be heaven or this could be hell .

I expect he might have a career if he can get fit. Not with us, however, I expect in the lower leagues. But it would be nice if he would suddenly be good for us but that seems more 'stupid' expecting that than expecting him to suddenly be good in the Premier League after this length of time out. Kalvin Phillips is struggling from lesser injuries and more game time than Ferguson has had. Anyway, thanks Pele.
