Andersen was 80/1 anytime on William hill tonight or 1000/1 two score two I had a tenner on both but luckily I had zaha 2 or more shots on target 6/1

My best-ever single football bet was many years ago. I worked in the City of London. On the way back to the office after a lunchtime bevvy, a couple of us lads diverted into Ladbrokes and after looking at the boards (in them days) for something to waste our money on, we each stuck a fiver on Terry Butcher at 50-1 to score the first goal in that night's England game. It was the beer talking but good ol' Tezza only went and did the business! £250 was a tidy sum to win in the late 70s/early 80s.

My best bet Andy Johnson to score first goal and Palace to win 1-0 against Birmingham. 100/1 special offer. I never back Palace but a mate insisted so just to shut him up I had £1 my normal bet would have been £5. 2nd best bet was at The Oaks. I got a last minute phone call as they were lining up at the post a mate was in the Royal enclosure and got talking to a chauffeur who told him the owners were lumping on £30k on the 28/1 horse.
