Brentford are no wally's and will provide a stern test. We'll have to be at our best, and I think we will. 2-0 Palace.

-----------Guaita-----------
Ward--Andersen--Guehi--Mitchell
---------Doucoure-----------
------Eze---------Schlupp---
Olise------Mateta------Zaha

The 5-2-3 formation others have suggested is simply too negative with no wing backs, for a game like this where we are expected to win. This will employed against the 'big 6' only.

I for one do not expect us to win.
Brentford have made impressive strides on and off the pitch in recent seasons, they have scored in every game this campaign and will prove formidable opponents.

Why don't you put out a statement on this site at the start of each season saying that "Unless stated otherwise I don't expect us to win any games"?

I readily admit that I am no Panglossian.

What worries me is that our collapses against Everton last season and Man City this, will have given other sides encouragement that our defence is somewhat flimsy in the face of concerted pressure. With the absence of Wilf (temporarily or permanently) as a counter-attacking option, one starts to wonder where we are headed at the moment. I'll be very pleased with a win tonight, but I don't expect one.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

we will go 4-3-3 I reckon , no Mitchell so Ward that side

midfield Doucoure Eze and Schlupp

Olise Mateta and if no Wilf , Edouard can play there as he did before for us and looked good , direct with no clever touch's,

So I reckon 2-0 maybe 3 , just hope nothing like last seasons 2 games

I cant believe I'm still saying this after 9 years, but if Wilf plays we win, If he doesn't we draw.

..or lose and twice over if Zaha moves on, He is our talisman
and our win rate when he is playing shows it.

I'm just hoping we don't lose 9-0 cos that'll be bye-bye PV.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

My prediction: If Ayew and Eduoard start with Olise and Mateta benched then we lose 2-0. If Mateta and Olise start we win 2-0.

Do you recall the first game they played at Selhurst since promotion?…

Worst game I had witnessed in a long time. The time wasting, diving, pretend injuries and dour tactics were painfully disgraceful.

Their manager then goes on the TV and tells loads of lies and then finishes off with how Brentford’s fans were better than Palaces.

I dislike them because of him and his dishonest way of coaching.

He came back on loan in January 2014 so nearly 9 years ago and I didn't say we hadn't won without him, of course we have, but my prediction is based on tonight's game.
