Lol - neither but none of the others either and I include Labour, Lib Dems etc in that. There’s not a decent, strong leader anywhere in parliament, sadly. It’s just full of self serving trough noshers.

A government narrative that reads: “We’re bang in trouble, get rid of Boris… argh, we’re even worse off now, get Boris back!’ Is hardly going to inspire faith/hope in these troubling times. There are some I like more than others, stretching across the political spectrum, however none fill me with confidence. Looks like we’ll have to brace ourselves as a nation for the immediate future. There are some I like more than others, stretching across the political spectrum, however none fill me with confidence. Looks like we’ll have to brace ourselves as a nation for the immediate future.

The bigger question is not " Partygate " or " Currygate " but the number of people who died of covid as opposed to with covid. Throwing out 100,000+ deaths due yo covid in UK is plain nonsense and a political blame game. Whatever happened at No.10 was doubtless wrong at several levels but IMO was not making the pandemic worse. It was poor staff control and bad optics by stupid people in the Westminster bubble. I give you Burley and Rigby. The vaccine roll out was a success and likely saved many lives by reducing severity of symptoms. But in addressing Tim's post I am going off topic so will end here. I feel Ben Wallace would be a good alternative (and is liked by the party) but for his own reasons he has not chosen to stand in any of the recent leadership contests. Penny Mourdant I believe would also be a good candidate but I’m not sure she’ll get through to the ‘final two’. The Greens, Lib Dem and particularly Labour offer no credible alternative. It’s not going to be easy to steer us through the next 24 -36 months and I genuinely believe a Labour Government would make our current Prime Ministers attempt look good. Boris is the one. My main reservation is that the MSM won’t give him a fair crack. Their reporting is now so bias and anti that he will be massively up against it. They control the narrative, the stories and the way in which they are reported. If only they would accept that there is so much more at stake for us and the Country than their own crusade to undermine and de-rail him. Ousting him from power a hundred or so days ago was purely down to their malicious and unrelenting campaign against him and look where that took us. As our previous chairman famously said…be careful what you wish for.

I feel Ben Wallace would be a good alternative (and is liked by the party) but for his own reasons he has not chosen to stand in any of the recent leadership contests.

Penny Mourdant I believe would also be a good candidate but I’m not sure she’ll get through to the ‘final two’.

The Greens, Lib Dem and particularly Labour offer no credible alternative. It’s not going to be easy to steer us through the next 24 -36 months and I genuinely believe a Labour Government would make our current Prime Ministers attempt look good.

Boris is the one. My main reservation is that the MSM won’t give him a fair crack. Their reporting is now so bias and anti that he will be massively up against it. They control the narrative, the stories and the way in which they are reported. If only they would accept that there is so much more at stake for us and the Country than their own crusade to undermine and de-rail him.

Ousting him from power a hundred or so days ago was purely down to their malicious and unrelenting campaign against him and look where that took us.

As our previous chairman famously said…be careful what you wish for.

Yeah my issue isn’t the parties but the exaggerated response to covid over a longer period than I felt was a balanced response. The constant lying just turns me off eventually.

Spoke to a retired Tory voter who thought Boris was doing a pretty good job. I think they come under the well off large detached house for one or two without any concerns and who hasn’t left the house hardly during covid and probably beyond and is ok with it. I expect many of the people in this situation and similar outlook also thought Truss was good. And here we are. Good for them maybe, or someone.

Johnson for me was never PM material. He always was a self-serving, over-ambitious chancer who used Brexit as his opportunity to achieve a personal ambition. The national interest doesn't feature on his bucket list. If he thought backing Remain would have got him into No 10, then he would have backed Remain.

His time in office threw the pandemic at him, which was another opportunity to play the hero, whilst providing a convenient smokescreen for his real character. This was then laid bare by his behaviour which, innocuous as it might have been in the bigger picture, was still indicative of a general disregard for what others were being asked to do. When his lying and blindness to his own character faults became too much for the MPs they threw him out.

If Johnson is seen by the rest of the world as the best we have to handle a crisis, our already damaged reputation will tank, there will be another run on the £ and and the markets. But since it was MPs who decided on the final two you'll defend them anyway.
