What an attacking line up. Anderson I presume is injured, but Vieira has chosen (apparently) a midfield containing one diminutive holding player who is still new to the league and both our skillful young playmakers, whilst leaving both Schlupp and Hughes (not to mention Milivojevic) on the bench. Interesting. Edited by TheBigToePunt (01 Oct 2022 2.14pm)

I think Doucoure may be a bit tired at the end of the match, can't ever remember us picking 5 attacking players before, COYP

Interesting to see Academy top scorer John-Kymani Gordon as part of the matchday squad.

I worry about Ward in a central defensive role (actually any role!). We need another holding midfielder, can't see Eze or Olise defending with any resistance. Says alot about the opposition when they can afford to sit Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Ziyech and Gallagher on the bench.

Four weeks without a game and then no Andersen, injured, presumably, in some meaningless international. Typical. Ward instead of Tomkins at CB is asking for trouble. Good to see Gordon on the bench...

The issue starts if they launch a load of high balls or crosses into the box. There's no denying that Andersen's probably been our best player recently, but Ward always gives his all.

If Olise is to be the favoured right sided forward then it’s Ayew’s only realistic position.
