We cannot play away from home with one holding midfielder, we should have started 4-2-3-1 with two holding in the midfield, we got totally over run. Save Olise for second half he doesn’t offer enough defensively when we play away, and we are not good enough to dominate possession away from home.

Have to say, Steve cooper is a far better manager than Viera. Tactically. Just don’t see what Viera managerial prowess is. Mitchell, Milli should not be anywhere on the pitch. He can’t get fire out of the players, would not be surprised that he lost the locker room already.

Well, certainly a bad display today and substitutions didn’t help as well. As for our midfield, it’s been non existent all season but luckily we have picked up points with it being poor. We have one midfield player every match selected with Dacoure being the best to choose from. Sadly he is always on his own and today it was Luka’s turn to be our one midfielder. Yes, he was at fault for Everton’s first goal but that isn’t our problem, it’s team selection with no support for our one midfielder who gets selected. Luka in the second half was then replaced and our midfield suffered even more as our midfield had no recognised midfield players? As for the other players chosen to play in midfield each week they are square pegs in round holes. It doesn’t work having so many forward style players playing in midfield as they aren’t strong enough to battle for the ball or positional play in the middle. So often this season as today they couldn’t pass or control the ball to set up attacks nor support anyone around them. The back four are under tremendous pressure because of this and today they couldn’t hold out. Everton had an easy day I’m afraid and unless changes in the middle are made today’s result will happen more often. A balanced midfield is required and some of our favourite players need to be on the bench where they will be more beneficial coming on later in the game? I'm reminded of Ossie Ardiles' brief stint as Spurs manager. Another great player in his day, but for some reason decided that he'd set up with a kind of forward 5 if I recall, and of course it all went horribly wrong and he was sacked...

Our away form is a real worry. We show no ambition at all, three goalless away games off the trot

The Famous Five, it gave Tottenham the reputation for being the most attacking team that ever existed. Wasn't Klinsmann one of them?

PV is showing how nieve he is and basisally getting almost everything wrong tactictally, he is making the same mistakes at Nice, Two DMs is a must, not only to protect the defence but to allow the creative players to stay further up the pitch, really dissapointing to have so much creativity and not know how to use it

The Arsenal Invincibles side of which Vieira was a key part was robust in midfield and defence; the cherry on the cake was the exceptional forward abilities of Bergkamp and Henry. No players in "free" roles scratching their balls on the halfway line. The French national side was similar, robust in midfield and defence. This is where the game is won and lost, ask Brasil after the 7-1 drubbing by a hard working, skilful and organised German side.

We are trying to accommodate Zaha, Olise, Eze and Edouard which in some ways is admirable but they are all ball players who are not great out of possession.

You are correct, Wilf, Eze, Olise/Ayew and Doucoure with Hughes, Jairo until we can get someone better in, one too many flair players
