Unless you want a change from representative government we are always going to have MPs taking decisions they believe are correct.

Some of which some people will disagree with. That's normal.

What we can do is ensure that those elected to be MPs are truly representative and then free of outside influence so they can always decide on merit. The change I want is for Parliament and not parties to be supreme.

I don't have your faith in most of the candidates. One change I'd like to see is to ensure any prospective MPs have some life experience, including doing a proper job, outside university and politics.

Then vote for one that does and see how many agree. A broad mix of experience seems sensible to me.

I don't know why I didn't think of that when I was selecting the candidates for every party.

You donít have to!

You only have to consider those in your own constituency.

Itís exactly what I plan to do. I will vote for the person I know has a broad range of experience, is genuinely concerned about both local and national issues, works hard, is available to all, and listens to others before reaching conclusions. I will vote for an individual and not their party. Indeed I hope they can help change their party in several ways.

The best of a bad lot theory, What if the best candidate turns out to be from some right wing extremist party? Still voting for him?

As no extremist party would stand a candidate who met my criteria then itís impossible to imagine me preferring them.

I feel the same about the SNP although at the moment they seem to be a bit of a busted flush. The Tories in Scotland had a brief, and slightly surprising, moment of optimism when Ruth Davidson was leader but don't show anything now.

Andrew Bridgen, the one MP with principle who spoke out when they were all willing to lie, half truth and nudge you.

Andrew Bridgen, thrown out of the Tories for spreading conspiracy theories, joins Reclaim becoming their only MP, but soon leaves.

Now an independent he is standing again in the constituency he currently represents.

What are his chances? I anticipate he will lose his deposit and finish below the Raving Loonies. Which might be his true home.

An MP with principles I would be ashamed to admit to.
