When CPFC 2010 bought the club, wasnt there some agreement with LLoyds bank that the ground was included in the deal at a below market price (to help the deal through) provided that if the ground was ever sold on to a property developer (or for a change of use) there was some profit matrix in place to ensure LLoyds bank received some %age of that profit ?

IDK maybe I am not remembering it clearly or maybe if there was a time limit on that deal which has since passed - ( its now been 12 years & for sure market values for a piece of land in that location will have changed significantly during that period) in any event if it came to selling the ground or using it as an asset / collateral in any modern day loan application having to ring fence some amount for LLoyds probably wouldnt have a dramatic effect on the overall value but perhaps someone with a better memory than me could comment

All very sound and logical providing we stay in the EPL,however without strengthening in defence, midfield and at least a striker who can score the survival in the EPL is under threat.

Currently we score on average 0.9 goals per game and let in 1.35, so the issues are clear unless we score more goals I cannot see many points between now and the end of March.

Parish/Blitzer/Harris/Textor own the ground through CPFC Selhurst Park Ltd, that company has a debenture secured against the ground through a company in Luxembourg, this give the debenture holder preferential credit rights should the club ever go bust so it would seem that the ground is a very safe investment to these four no matter what happens to the club in the future!

We have two senior goalkeepers, one left back, two elderly right backs and a guy who has never played an entire competitive match for us. We can get by with the 4 centre halfs we have but midfield and up front is a bit of a mess. We have two possibly three in midfield who you wouldn’t want to pick in Riedewald, Milivojevic and Schlupp, another who is constantly injured in McArthur and Hughes who for some reason our manager doesn’t like. Doucoure is a nailed on starter and then we have a plethora of talented but who score few goals ‘wide attacking’ players in Eze, Olise, Ayew and Zaha (our top scorer) who is of course now injured. Two strikers, neither of whom score goals and one of them is possibly leaving!

That is supposed to be a team that keeps us competitive in the hardest league in the world. It is little surprise we have scored only 3 goals in our last 6 PL matches and 2 of them were against Bournemouth who looked to be a terrible team and the other was a free kick.

I’m amazed the confidence that some have that we are in no trouble. I reckon we are only a couple of injuries away from being in dire trouble and I would not be surprised to see PV walk as I think he is getting very frustrated, as am I as a supporter.

Rant over. Let’s hope we get some players through the door next couple of days.

Hard to disagree with this. The two goals against Bournemouth were corners too so we haven’t scored in open play since West Ham away I think.

Due to over exerting our club financially in the recent past, we have no "transfer money", at the end of the season unless some ridiculous contract extensions are given, we will be in a much better position, and hopefully the boardroom maybe sorted, i of course would like more players, but a couple of loans to buy is our best hope

I think that the confidence that we are not in trouble / not in a relegation situation comes from the fact that each season at least 3 clubs have bigger problems than us & that the step up from Championship to PL gets harder each year as the clubs already in the PL strengthen each year -

Whilst this may be OK in as far as it goes it cannot be viewed as a long term plan if we do not strengthen the squad on a regular basis, as many have said on here, if you stand still in the PL you are in reality going backwards-

My feeling is that because we know that we have points on the board & some less difficult games at the end of the season we have enough momentum to stay up without spending in the Jan window - we have a number of players out of contract at the end of the season & whilst a number of them will no doubt be offered extensions we will have to replace some & at the same time somehow try to lower the amount of revenue spent on players wages

Not an easy balancing act - one that I think we will manage this season but for sure sooner or later it will bite us in the bum -

Just a thought, but if Palace were in the bottom three now, would transfer money be found from somewhere ?

Thats a good question - I suspect that the answer would be yes, to protect the investment - no doubt there would be a close inspection of the remaining fixtures & a totting up of the estimated points totals of each club first to see whether it really was required -

It would have to come from Harris 6.2billion, Blitzer 1.3billion or Textor 270million. i cant see H & B giving any, so it would have to be Textor, by far the least wealthiest of the 3
