The longer this week has gone on it’s just so typical palace to go and play like prime Barcelona tomorrow and beat them 3-1

I have got more and more confident daily

I know exactly what you mean however I almost like to tempt fate by condemning us beforehand!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Jones Knows has said we will get 1-1 draw it won’t let me copy and paste which is a shame
However he states that since viera took charge we have played 13 games at 5.30 or later and only lost 3 , interesting stat!
He thinks our atmosphere will make us claw out a draw !

Interesting read if anyone has the sky sports app

However he did predict us to beat villa last week …. But as I said , he is quite a good statitician and to be honest rarely fancies palace

Wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he supports Utd.

Our next three opponents Man City , Brighton and Arsenal are probably the 3 most in form teams in the division and all play in a similar way with lots of movement and switches of play to disrupt opponents and get them out of position.
We are very likely to be outplayed in midfield in all three fixtures.
I would be inclined to treat these three fixtures as a block requiring a specific set of containing tactics as we’re not going to outplay them.
We will have had a week to work on this and I wonder if Vieira will move to a back 5 with Richards coming in.
Our full backs would not be expected to be wing backs but be tasked with stopping their direct opponents whether that be Grealish, Mahrez, Mitoma, March, Martinelli or Saka.
Having 3 centre backs would give us extra security with e.g Richards covering Clyne and Guehi covering Mitchell if the wingers get past the full backs.
The extra central defender could also block the spaces and make us less vulnerable to long balls over the top to say Haaland.
All three central defenders are comfortable on the ball so there’s no reason why we couldn’t build moves from the back.
All three could also be used as a threat from our own set pieces .
The approach I am advocating is borne out of realism rather than negativity.
Personally I would be very happy with 2 points from the next 3 fixtures.

A very good point putting Richards in (front of) Andersen & Guehi. Hughes, Lokonga and Doucoure when he is back in the middle and Zaha & Olise on top.

When is Doucoure back?

Another interesting stat ,
Palace are unbeaten at home in their previous 13 games against non London opposition !
That is quite a good one!

No one expect Edouard to start tomorrow, Viera was asked in press conference how’s he been this week after publicly saying stuff about him last week , Viera just basically said he wants more
So yea I don’t think we will see him tomorrow either

I used to think that Wilf was ok as a centre forward but he hasn't seemed any good there this season. I'm trying to remember if there was one match where he did it well - I get a feeling there was one. However, that means Mateta. He's been recently playing like Benteke, minus the hold up play or heading ability. I find Mateta's poor aerial ability pretty strange considering his size. He looks every bit as big as any centre back.

Yes Wilf has had a few good games as centre forward I think Roy used to use him a few times and it worked ,
Mateta I just can’t get my head round, he’s showed glimmer of quality but I just can’t fathom as you say that with his size he shows no aerial threat , when he jumps he almost looks shorter!
I still think there is a player in there somewhere , he just seems to fall over his own legs sometimes and looks very unorthodox , hopefully he’ll bag a couple of goals and boost his confidence
