The only suprise is that he lasted so long . Brightons upturn in fortunes since his departure there and Chelsea's poor results under his stewardship should bring lots of questions as to his suitability to anyone seeking a head coach .

And we still need a striker

Believe it was reported that Chelsea had to pay compensation to Brighton in order to acquire the services of Potter and his team in the region of £20m.

A joke club as others have said.

I think he will be relieved to go, he has had a lot of abuse.

Only this morning in a conversation I opined that when Potter is given the 'axe', he will be greatly relieved.

This might be one of his emotions at the present time and he can look forward to receiving a significant compensation cheque !

And now they have to pay his contract up worth I think about £40-50m. That’s one hell of an expensive manager.

Pretty sure Potter won’t care a jot. I’d retire if I was him.

I'd imagine he's mightily relieved and very well compensated for his 7 months of strife.

Given Chelsea's European aspirations wouldn't Nagelsmann be more their cup of tea?

Brighton is a club that enjoys a massive benefit from the intellectual rights of the Star Lizard technology. Im not convinced that Potter would bring us what we need.
At Chelsea he has shown that he wrestles with attempting to play various formations that would appear to have seriously muddled the players. His team selections and tactics culminating in their dire performance against Villa would really concern me without the benefit of a proven and very successful transfer machine........and of course the money to fund it. Combine that with an owner who knew very little about the game, yet initially elected himself as Director of football and Chelsea are a classic symptom of modern football.
I am far from convinced Potter would suit the Palace.
