The great debate of RH came in we turned a corner
What if PV stayed on would we have turned the corner ?
( as we know we played top teams on a run got a couple of narrow loses
& tight draws (( Man City 81st minute / Man Utd 91st Draw )) under PV

So if we keep RH on what is our expectation next year 12/13/14th spot ?

What if we have a poor run in first 3 months playing the top 8 teams from this year
Do we sack him like PV ?

Are you serious, PV couldn't turn on a tap, never mind the corner.

LOL.

If PV is a good manager he will prove it elsewhere in which case we will become his Motherwell to Alex Ferguson.

Roy is refusing to discuss his plans which suggest to me that he wants to stay. As others have pointed out unless there is an outstanding candidate better the devil you know.

It's SONIA conscience if you get it wrong though.

Love Roy, but he had nothing to lose coming back, the upturn in form was always going to happen with the fixtures we had whoever was in charge. So I wouldn’t want him to stay because when the going gets tough next season it will soon slip back into the negative dour football of the last couple of years of his reign. I’d like him to go out on a high against Forest and for us to have a fresh start next season

Disagree.
PV,would probably taken us down as was proving to be devoid of any new ideas or a change of direction.
Without Connor,we seemed toothless and a win was a step too far under his tenure.

I am not against him staying in view of the effect he has had in motivating players to such an extent that he has shown we have a squad more than capable of maintaining our Premiership status. My only doubt occurred yesterday when he made his substitutions. He brought on Jairo and Maca rather than any of the other young midfielders and made the point in his interviews that there is plenty of talent in the older players which I am sure with his knowledge is totally correct. However if the Club is looking to move forward with younger players there is a doubt in my mind that Roy would give them the opportunity to get game time. If the Club really do want to move forward with youth I am not sure Roy is the one to do it. Either way I will not be annoyed if Roy stays COYP

Ultimately, the job of a manager in any business is to get the most out of his staff. So rather than comparing PVs tough run of fixtures with our more recent fixtures under Roy, I'd be inclined to compare like-for-like; the performances of the team under Roy versus the performances (not just the results) of the same team in the same fixtures earlier in the season. In those games, PV's side mainly eked out some results. Roy's team in contrast has been rampant; utterly dominant. In short, no comparison. Roy has unlocked the squad at his disposal in a way that PV simply never did.

While I don't think it's a good idea to let the tail wag the dog, you only need to listen to Eze, Ward, Ayew, or any of a number of others to make it clear there may be a lot of work to be done over the summer, but we don't need to spend time looking for a new manager.

Roy has definitely benefited from the easier run of fixtures and I believe PV would’ve got us enough points as well, as in when we comfortably beat Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve. How would Roy have done in that same tough run we had after that? We’ll never know and we all see it different, but some seem to have forgotten the massive turn around under PV and how good we looked at times last season.

That’s why I want Roy to go at the end of the season, because I would hate those with short memories that turned on PV to turn on Roy again next season when the going gets tough, as it most certainly will

We need to be planning for the future and a 75 year old manager shouldn't be part of the future

1 more year of Roy to plan for a new manager e.g. Kompany, Carrick, possibly Rodgers etc..

Roy deserves another season and it gives Palace time to plan. Give Roy a new RB, attacking midfielder and another striker Palace are cooking can get top 10 even if Zaha leaves you still have Eze and Olise and the potential creativity of another new AM. Hopefully Rak Sakyi comes back and gets more minutes could be a decent player.

Johnstone, Mitchell, Guehi, Andersen, Boey, Le Fee, Doucoure, Eze, Rak Sakyi, Thuram, Olise.

Thuram and Lee Fee would be hard to get but if Palace do offer a good salary and sign on fee who knows what can happen.

Other midfield options include: Lerma, Gallagher or Loftus Cheek Chelsea will need to sell some players I can see one of them being available.

Other forward options include: Bereton Diaz, Moussa Dembele, Alfredo Morelos, Gyokeres.

I don’t know what more Roy has to do to convince the doubters on here. I don’t get this idea that PV would have won those games. We won because Roy made 2 critical changes. Firstly he stopped the short passing Man City game that PV insisted on in favour of getting the ball to the front players quickly and secondly he brought Eze in from the cold and gave him license to play as a number 10. If PV had been capable of doing either of those things he’d have done them long before he got the sack. Instead he played the same way week in week out with the same result.

I like PV. He was as good a midfielder as Gerard or Lampard but about as good a coach too!

The idea of keeping Roy on will appeal to SP because he will be happy to work with a limited budget whereas a new man will want backing in the market
