You can just have all the text read out to you on the phone and computer now and you can speak your text and the phone writes it. Even on computers for things like college essays.

This is true, up to a point. Unless you have someone beside you I am not sure it works as simply as that, and whether for places like this, at all, I am unclear. That's not the problem though. I am unaware if anyone here is blind but it's a safe bet that most reading the responses are sighted. My experience with voice into text is that whilst impressive and getting better it's far from perfect and needs a lot of correction. I think we would easily spot an uncorrected piece.
