Fingers crossed one of the young lads can be the hero and find that winner!

1-2 gotta be another comeback. Still gives a longer look at which Eindhoven players might be worth buying. They have looked pretty dominant in this competition

Alas it is not to be, PSV add a third in the 122th minute.

Still well done lads.

Scott Banks Best on ground.

Sadly he was subbed but was the key playmaker throughout

Was a good game - good defending & attacking play

Sadly we didn’t find the net for 2nd goal yet very close chances

Keeper did well too

Scott Banks will be a top player

Adamarola made some good incisive runs. I thought Mooney looked lively when he came on.

Just got back from the match….

Firstly, cracking atmosphere. Great stuff from the HF leading it all. Would have been a wonderful experience for the youngsters to play in front of that.

Ultimately PSV were more clinical and scored when they were on top and we didn’t. That said, we had a stone wall penalty not given in the 89th minute.

For me, best player was Tayo at LB, had serious pace and was a constant attacking threat in the second half. Banks looked useful and scored a beauty. Was disappointed with Rak Saki who was taken off early in the second half.

My honest opinion was that none of them were good enough to be near the first team yet.

That was my impression too. Tayo maybe closest. It is too easy to take a rose tinted view of youngsters because we desperately want them to be ready.

Just back from the game. I thought PSV were noticeably the better side overall, technically, tactically and individually. They, along with a few big-club reserve sides, play in the Dutch second tier against senior pros every week. Perhaps they were always the favourites therfore, but I was a little disappointed with the way Palace played.

I thought the point of the much-hyped academy system was to move English clubs away from the embarrassments of the 1980s, when continental opposition would keep the ball endlessly while we chased shadows, relied on physical intimidation and booted it high and long in the general direction of a tall striker on the odd occasions we got hold of the ball. If so, based on tonight nobody told Palace!

It was my first sight of Banks and Rak-Sahki in the flesh. The former looked class, a real gem. The latter, despite having had such a good season, was anonymous tonight. Hopefully better days await him, but tonight dulled any anticipation I had that he might be ready to fly in the first team next year.

Beyond that, Adaramola was much as I've seen him before: a high-speed handful but ungainly. Rodney showed moments of almost AWB-esque individual defensive ability only to instantly follow them up with ball use Lee Sinnott would've been embarrassed by. Street won't be a first team player in the top two divisions unfortunately, although by getting him to spend his evening challenging for hopeless punts into the sky we are at least getting him ready for lower/non league football.

I am aware that I'm probably being too harsh, and this is the final thing from me, but I found Philips and our no6 (Grehan or Balmer, not sure which) almost embarrassing at times. Phillips has apparently done well on loan, but made himself look foolish this evening. He must have covered miles trying to close their holding midfielder down only to see him effortlessly slip through his hands time and again like a bar of soap in the bath. That's not the end of the world, but to charge around like your the new vinnie Jones, starting silly squabbles, diving in, and making a bit of a tit of yourself isn't the solution when you're getting so comprehensively schooled.

Whoever was playing 6 for us has certainly got some aggression. You can tell by how often he kicks the ball really hard and far. Nowhere near a team mate, but you can't have everything. Word of advice, if you're going to smash into people, get into scuffles, smash the ball at the head of a prone opponent and generally carry on like a tit then at least don't throw yourself to the floor when one of your opponents squares up to you.

Like I said, Banks was very good though.

I would like to ask those who watched the game, where did Banks play, and do you think that he is ready for the bench.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

A very enjoyable game and a great atmosphere, like the previous poster said well done to the HF too making a racket behind the goal and really trying to get all the young kids that attended singing along.

The palace boys gave their all and a little like our first team play well in bursts and have some pace and individual skill but struggled to retain possession and poor decision making in the final third. Some very exciting talent in that team but nobody will challenge the first 15 next season. I think Banks and Jez have an outside shot at a squad place but maybe another season of regular mens football will benefit them more. Banks definitely has something and very good awareness and technique he reminds me a little bit of Darren Ambrose, he’s not a winger though hasn’t got the explosive pace needed these days at top level.

PSV a strong outfit their 10 and 11 absolutely run the game and tempo especially in ET. We did have some chances to win 2nd half and a stone wall pen on banks so was in the game throughout and if they’re the best in Europe we’re not far behind we’ve come a long way in a short space of time.

From the younger lads that haven't been out on loan I feel Grehan and Wells- Morrison look like proper footballers but lack physicality both need a loan. Rodney and Tayo are very raw, they have the physicality but not sure either are footballers. Tayo needs to slow his feet down and calm down before releasing the ball but he’s absolutely electric in full flight definitely has frightening potential.

Being ultra critical, from what I saw last night Street and Phillips will have professional careers but not sure with palace at the top level, both have great attitudes but short in my opinion and already both 20. I think Jez suffered from people not being on his wavelength played some clever one twos and made some clever runs and didn’t receive the ball back. He’s more of a Mahrez than a Zaha definitely a player there and technically very strong he glides, just needs to fill out though still looks like a kid not a man yet.

We’ll done though palace U21s you should be extremely proud!
