Freedman is the DOF. Parish will tell him what funds are available from the four main owners (Remember Parish is most probably the least wealthy of the four).

I suspect what little transfer kitty there is is being reserved for bolstering our attack.

Too many fans seem to think that the club is awash with funds and can splash out £20m for a RB, another £20m for a LB, £40m for Conor Gallagher and £40m plus for a new striker. That's fantasy football and if that's what fans are expecting in real life I suggest they think seriously about supporting a club that has that kind of finance on a regular basis.

In my mind Doombear, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said and the only other consideration I would add is that every transfer window there will always be another 4 or 5 positions, players etc that every fan will look at and say ‘we could do with someone new here’.

I think the finance might just be available, considering the American billionaires etc, or at least within the realms of possibility, however I imagine the thinking of the owners also incorporates a wider and longer term view than just ‘one window at a time’. We have seen it exhibited at various other clubs, including even Chelsea now, where that short term thinking and mass spending can land you bang in trouble, Everton spring to mind too. It’s unsustainable and very rarely brings immediate success. Injuries, flops and many other factors often come into play to derail even the best laid plans.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

He is not for me - i think it was a position Leicester had problems with all season and although he is a threat going forward there were massive holes left when he did so and teams exploited this. I don't think he is that quick either and think the money could be better used elsewhere.

We were linked with him before he went to Leicester, so here has been previous interest in the player.

However, I think this report is just lazy journalism.

Its why, even through we all want a new RB, Wardy and Clyne do a job there. And who knows, if Ferguson gets fit, he may be the 20m right back every one wants.

We need to be patient and judge the window as a whole. I'm sure if fans were asked for a new CF or a ne RB, they'd go for a new CF. So lets hope that's what Dougie is working towards. Keep the players that can do a job, and save the pennies for a new CF and LW.
