All I could see on there is that he got sent off for two yellows in quick succession when at Sunderland.

Regardless of that, Wahbi Khazri is 32 and has two years left on his current contract. We wouldn’t pay for a player that old and we wouldn’t offer someone that age more than a one year deal.

I was very much under the impression that was the plan.

From my relatively ignorant and anxious viewpoint however, that plan does not sit well alongside what already looks an incomplete squad to me and my lack of faith we will move for more 'gems' in the Transfer Window or general lack of trust in us getting any reasonable volume of transfers done at all.

I still fear hypothetically that Lerma is a Doucoure replacement as we'll sell him with the board relying upon Richards being fit to fill a Guehi or Andersen size hole, Tomkins being wheeled out of the retirement home occasionally and the money made seemingly going elsewhere. Meanwhile we'll sign the 'Lithuanian Maradona' to replace Zaha who'll spend the season on loan to a third tier Latvian side.

That's just me and my fears however!

So with Franca deal completed & Zaha about to be confirmed we will now turn our attentions to a Striker.

Gray is still in advanced talks also.

It will be interesting to see the make up of the squad travelling to America at the weekend.
Will Guehi, Anderson, Doucoure, Guiata and Mateta travel?
It won’t provide a definitive answer to the speculation but if there is serious and advanced interest in them you would think that potential buying clubs would want them to join their own pre season preparations.
There are also question marks over Zaha (fitness, contract) and Schlupp (still absent as far as I can ascertain).
We’re three weeks from the season kicking off and it’s not ideal preparation although I’m sure the optimists will say there is plenty of time and that many other clubs have similar squad complications.
