Dazza had been saying done deal for over two weeks, when it wasn’t.

It is purely guesswork, like him saying Wilf had re-signed for us and that it would be announced that same week.

Lewis Hall - is a done deal

If I mis-led anyone I apologise the £70m I said we would have if Zaha did not sign does include wages of any players we sign.

With this in mind I would say we have around £50m to spend & £20m for wages of which we have done around £20m on Franca & Hall.

This will leave us around £30m give or take.

We have another loan so will use the bulk of this money on a striker.

This thread is honestly like something from a parallel universe.

I shouldnt have made the comment about the big C and not being funny apologies. I just found their comment childish and not funny and should have used another analogy. In my opinion Parish doesnt know what he is doing going round in circles with Hodgson and not bringing in enough players.

You guys think he is the best thing since sliced bread fair enough. Football provides different opinions.

Correct. One of very few chairmen / owners I'd give a lifetime contract to, if he'd be prepared to sign it. The best balance I've ever known between pushing the club forward and making sure it still exists for the next generation.

The vast majority of critics (who make up a small portion of the fanbase) just don't have a f***ing clue about real life.

It's a bit of a double standard to call out players who don't care enough about the club to also criticise a chairman who's a lifelong fan.

It’s worthwhile , cathartic and fun to speculate, suggest or even insist on what the club should be doing but the hypothetical with absolutely zero risk is very different to the reality.

I’d love us to buy a new striker, could have been Gyokeres, Adams, Iheanacho or anybody outside of my immediate suggestions/limited thinking, a couple new wingers, a right back plus Lerma, Franca and now possibly Hall. I’d love us to do that as soon as possible and retain the rest of the squad. Zaha’s departure hurts my heart far more than my mind. However I’d of course like us to do all this without any further questions asked around dealings, reality on the possibilities of completion and financial ramifications involved. Again, it’s fun to assert such thoughts in private and on HoL, makes footballing sense in my personal opinion and I hold my own and others’ rights to dream/wish for this.

If we do not see this, I either have to conclude the genius footballing mind that is Nicholas91 is far superior to that of the powers that be and wasted or, OR, that the owners of a club, situated within SE London, with a smaller and older stadium than most others, not far off going extinct and competing against billionaires, has to be far more strategic to maintain its current ‘above weight’ status quo, nudge it forward and protect from the disaster it previously came so close to. I’d also have to acknowledge the far wider environment of finances and business involved that I and anyone else on here who has not been chairman of CPFC know naff all about. The latter is the far more likely conclusion.

It’s always very possible but I am somewhat confident we will not be relegated next season. A Wilf-less Palace is of course a bit scary for most of us however the team is not a bad one at all. Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Lerma, Doucoure and Eze provide us with a solid spine and there are enough around them to suffice. We may still have a fit Olise soon, a Brazilian wonderkid on our hands and a couple more signings. We may even finish in the top half (sshhhhh!).

I really hope to see some more players come in but what will be will be and I am at least rest assured Parish will not be fiddling while our proverbial Rome burns in fact quite the opposite. His hair, fake tan and attire are all questionable in my eyes (a very lighthearted joke) however his commitment to Palace is not. Even if he makes mistakes and is financially limited as a chairman, I’d soon rather see the club in his hands than many or any other’s.

We’re close now so try not to be too gloomy, take the likes of Dazza’s posts with as much sincerity as you can personally or emotionally afford and no more, get yourself prepared and cheer on the famous red and blue as we go again once more! Another PL season, I’m grateful for that at the very least! Wishing all a good week in the build up.

COYP! EEEEEEEAAAAGGGGLLLLEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
