Do you guys think the reason we are having problems bringing players in is because they know Roy is only here for a season.
So they think a new manager coming in next summer might not want them?

I suspect Roy’s employment has very little do with things.

PV might well have had a bit more of a draw however it seemed the players became as disillusioned with him as the fans. Chelsea, for example, have gone through more managers than Neil Shipperley has cream cakes but this doesn’t stop them. Watford are at the extreme end of the extremes with managerial changes yet have about the same turnover with players.

I’d be very surprised if Steve turned round and said ‘we had two wingers, two full backs, a second choice GK and a new striker, all world class with huge transfer fees and personal terms agreed lined up, but they all pulled out due to managerial situation.

I suspect Roy is in place as we are not banking on bringing many players in if any more to what’s already done. Roy’s posting is more likely to have been engineered to support the transfer ‘strategy’ than vice versa.
